chapter one;
the beginning

AVEN STARED at the ceiling of her bedroom thinking about if there's such thing as a another life other than this boring world. She thought about how the world would be more interesting if magic was real. The girl closed her eyes as imagination took over her.

"AVEN" Her mother, Arabella Cross yelled

"I'M COMING MOM" Aven huffed and walked downstairs

"I'm here, mother" Aven said while yawning

"Hi sweetheart, could you please help me with dinner please?" Her mother asked smiling at the girl

"Sure mom" Aven smiled, she couldn't help but got distracted with her thoughts of how the world will be like if there's magic.

She kept smiling to herself which caused her mother to look at her with a confused look on her face.

"Why do you keep smiling sweetheart?" Arabella asked her daughter with a teasing smile

"Oh, nothing mother" Aven replied as she put down the plates

"Okay" Her mother said not fully believing her daughter

"Mom, can i ask you a question?" Aven asked as she sat on the chair

"Sure hun" Her mother replied

"Have you ever thought about how the world would be like if we can do magic?"

Hearing that question made Aven's mother stop cutting the fruits. Sure it's a normal question for an 11 or 12 year old girl would ask, but it's different for the Cross family.

You see, the Cross family were one of the biggest family name in the wizarding world. They're a pureblood family that stopped showing at the wizarding world.

Why you might ask? Well three of the Cross family members were murdered, so their grandmother decided that it was too dangerous for their family to stay at the wizarding world.

Arabella attended Hogwarts but didn't finish her last year there because they had to move, Arabella was sorted into Ravenclaw, Aven's father also attended Hogwarts and got sorted into Hufflepuff.

Aven's father, Marcus took Arabella's last name simply because he doesn't have a family name.

"Mother, hello?" Aven waved her hand infront of her mother's face

"Sorry hun" Arabella replied as she continue cutting the fruits and putting it in a bowl

"What was your question again?" She asked washing her hand

"Have you ever thought about how the world would be like if we can do magic?" Aven repeated her question and sat back

"Well i think it would be amazing" Arabella started as she sat down next to her daughter

"I think that most things would be easier to do, and i think that life would be more fun. Especially with making friends or finding love because i think that they would make a school for witchcraft and wizardry" Arabella continued and her memories at hogwarts took over her, how happy she was, how she wished that she finished her last year at Hogwarts, how she wished that her family never had to move.

"It can also be dangerous, cause with magic people can also be reckless"She said remembering her dead brothers who got killed

"True" Aven agreed eating a grape

"Well you go get your siblings and tell them that the food are ready okay?" Arabella smiled at her daughter

"Okay mom" Aven sprinted to her older siblings room first and to her little brother's room

"Hey E, dinner's ready" Aven said to her little brother who's laying in his bed reading a book

"Okay" Emillio replied

"Come on little brother" Aven pulled her brother

"Okay first i am only 1 year and 3 months younger than you, and i'm coming" Emillio huffed and Aven just stuck her tongue out

The next day Aven's parents were sitting in their living room talking and laughing, untill they heard a thud coming from their fire place.

"What is it hun?" Arabella asked her husband who went to check what it was and her husband can just stand there with his eyes glued to the envelope and his jaw dropped.

Noticing that her husband couldn't answer her, she walked to her husband and when she saw the envelope her eyes went wide

"It can't be, who is it for?" Arabella asked

"Aven" Marcus replied as he walked his wife back to the couch

"But how?" Arabella asked with a confused look on her face.

What made her confuse was about the fact that her 4 older kids didn't got a letter, she always thought that it was because the wizarding world, or just Dumbledore in general, probably understood that the Cross family doesn't want any more connection with them.

"I don't know, but what are we going to do? We can't hide this from her" Marcus sighed

"Yeah, i mean it's her decision we can't push her to not going" Arabella said running her hand through her hair

"We'll talk to her okay,everything is going to be alright" Marcus assured his wife
