chapter five;
the one with the animagus

AS THIRD year started, the five of them are now known as the pranksters. As much as Professor McGonagall hates to say it, she loves the five of them like they're her own kids. The Professor let them call her Minnie which is something that she doesn't let much students do.

There was even one time when James called her mum which resulted in the four others teasing him non stop about it. Minerva even let them call her 'Minnie'.

They also agreed on Severus Snape as their target to prank, in which Aven wasn't happy with. The reason is because even though her and Severus Snape had never been close, and he's somewhat a jerk sometimes, he's still human, and no one should be treated that way. And probably the reason why James suggested Severus as the target was because Severus and Lily are close.

"We should become an Animagus" Sirius said out of the blue as he waited his best friends to finish their potions essay

"What?" Aven asked confused with Sirius' sudden suggestion

"We should become an Animagus, V" Sirius repeated putting his arms around her shoulders

"Absolutely not" Remus quickly snapped

"Isn't that illegal?" Peter asked

"Like that has ever stopped us" Sirius answered back

"Come on guys it'll be fun, i mean Remus doesn't need to do it but wouldn't it be cool to turn into another form" Sirius exclaimed

"You know transforming into a werewolf hurts right Siri?" Remus questioned chuckling nervously

"I know i know, but it'll be fun. Plus that means that we can be there for Remmy when he transforms into a werewolf!" Sirius exclaimed

"No Siri, it's dangerous and illegal. If you're there during my transformation, who knows what i'll do? I don't want any of you to get hurt because of my cause" Remus shook his head

"Remmy as much as i agree with you about this being dangerous, you can't transform alone every full moon, you need someone to be there with you" Aven comforted the boy

After a while and a moment of silence, Remus finally spoke up.

"Alright, it's up to you guys. It's your choice, but just be careful" Remus agreed looking at his best friends

"What do you think Jay?" Aven asked with a smirk noticing that the boys is practically day dreaming

"Huh what?" James asked after hering his nickname

"You're daydreaming about Evans again aren't you?" Peter grinned

"Shut up Pete" James blushed as he threw a pillow from Aven's bed

"What was the question again" James asked trying to hide his blush

"What do you think of becoming an animagus?" Sirius asked again

"You know i'm always down" James answered looking at Sirius who has a wide smile on his face

"Well what do you say guys?" Sirius questioned looking at Peter and Aven

"Yeah i'm down" Peter said and Sirius high fived him

"V?" he asked the girl

"I don't know" Aven answered still debating

"Come on V, pretty please" Sirius pleaded

"Fine but we have to be careful cause i'm not planning on loosing you idiots anytime soon" Aven finally gave in and Sirius hugged her and pulled her to stand up and dance as Remus played a song

The five of them went to the library which is unusual well technically it's only unusual to see Sirius and James there because they never stepped a foot in the library even though it has been almost three years since they got accepted into Hogwarts.

"Okay i found the book" Remus told them and the five of them sat down

"Step one Carry a single Mandrake leaf in your mouth for an entire month – from full moon to full moon to be precise. If you swallow the leaf or remove it from your mouth at any point, you have to start the whole thing again. You then have to find a 'small crystal phial that receives the pure rays of the moon', put your saliva-filled leaf inside, and add one of your own hairs."Aven read the instructions

"Step two Add a silver teaspoon of dew from a place that neither sunlight nor human feet have touched for a full seven days. And if that wasn't hard enough, you then have to add the chrysalis of a Death's-head Hawk Moth to the crystal phial as well. Then put 'this mixture in a quiet, dark place' and leave it alone until the next electrical storm. And really leave it alone – don't even look at it. Don't even think about looking at it." Remus continued

They read the instructions and agreed that they were going to start the next day.
