Stargazing|Sirius Black [ON HOLD]

SEVENTEEN

chapter seventeen;
the one with Regulus

IT HAS BEEN exactly a week since Aven spent the night at the Potters. Now that she's home, she stayed in her room as usual.

"Aven!" Iris yelled from downstairs

"Oh come on" Aven huffed standing up

"What?" Aven yelled, frustration taking over her

"Come downstairs!"

"Fuck this shit" Aven cursed before opening the door of her room to see Emillio eating a bowl strawberries

"You're fucked" Emillio chuckled

"You want me to punch you?"

"Just saying"

"I'm probably fucked, but if you come with me, they'll be softer. Seeing as your basically a baby living in a teenage body" Aven gave him a cheeky smile

"I can't dent that, alright then" Emillio shrugged

The two of them walked downstairs to see the rest of their family all dressed up.

"Who died?" The two snickered

"Finally" Ivan sighed looking at Aven

"We're not going to be home for a few days" Arabella informed her two youngest children

"To where exactly?" Emillio asked pretending that he cared

"Just somewhere" Arabella smiled at them

"Take care of the house alright? Your father is coming with us so Aven, you're in charge"

"You hear that Milo, i'm in charge. That's so fun" Aven squealed giving them the fakest smile

"You're crazy you know that?" Emillio shoved his sister to the side

"Well alright then have fun in somewhere" Aven grinned, feeling excited because she could finally sleep or eat without hearing people constantly screaming at each other's throat

The family left eventually, leaving Emillio and Aven alone in the house. The first thing they did was turned on the radio and sang out loud.

It was 5 pm and the two Cross siblings laid on the couch laughing before they got interrupted by a knock on the door.

"They said they were leaving for a few days right?" Emillio asked unsurely

"Yeah they did" Aven nodded

"Please tell me it's not them"

"Come on let's see"

The two of them went to the front door to hear someone knocked again. They opened the door to see the last person who would be at their house.

"Reggie?"

"I'm sorry for coming out of the blue, but you two are the only people that i'm close with" Regulus shivered, with a cup of hot chocolate in his hand

"Reggie it's okay i'm glad your here" Aven smiled putting a blanket over Regulus

"I couldn't stay there Ave, they were beating me up and i just i couldn't" Regulus let down a few tears

"When Sirius left they only got worse. They kept saying how a disgrace Sirius was to the family and all that. I couldn't let them talk about Sirius like that, so i yelled at them. And they started beating me again and i eventually left" Regulus explained

"I'm glad you left that horrible house" Emillio patted Regulus' back

"This is a stupid question, but how are you feeling?" Aven questioned

"I feel great, amazing actually. I feel free" Regulus let out a huge sigh before smiling happily

"Well that's amazing Reg" Emillio smiled at him

"I'll get you some clothes" Emillio told them

"How is he?" Regulus asked

"Sirius, how is he?"

"Well when he came here he was devastated. He kept blaming himself for leaving you there. But i think he's doing better, well considering he's with James
now so yeah he's good" Aven explained with a smile

"Well that's good to hear" Regulus chuckled

"Reggie, i really want you to stay here but i need to be sure if you're okay with my family fighting and all that because i don't want to cause any more trauma for you. So if you want to leave you can go to the Potter's"

"I'll be okay, what matters to me is there i'm not there with them anymore. And i'll only come to the Potter's if you and Emillio comes with me" Regulus responded

"Okay" Aven nodded

"Okay here's some clothes that Ivan and Damien no longer use" Emillio came down with a bunch of clothes

"Thankyou"

"It's no problem Reg" Emillio said giving Regulus a fist bump, which Regulus didn't return as he was confused

"Thankyou really, for letting me stay, for bringing me clothes, for being there for me" Regulus thanked the two siblings

"You know that we'll always be there for you Lil Reg" Aven smirked at the nickname

"Oh come on you're just like Sirius" Regulus jokingly whined

The three of them stayed up till midnight watching movies, talking, laughing. Regulus couldn't stop smiling. He couldn't put the smile away from his face.

He is finally free. Free from all the pain that his parents put him through. His feelings like he owed something to his parents were gone. As of right now, he feels safe and happy. And that's all that matters.
