The flashing of camera lights interrupted your vision for a split second.

Hawks had already exited the limo, but you lingered in the vehicle doorway.

Hawks looked down at you, and spread out his wings to give you some privacy.

"Come on, Sweetheart. I'll be right here." Hawks soothed.

"But that's the thing." You scrunched your brows. "Want me to give you a moment to walk up ahead? This place is littered with the Press. Surely the Number 2 shouldn't be seen with a... date."

Hawks lightly laughed, as he knew exactly what you were insinuating.

He was never seen with another woman. The Pro Hero had always been private about that. Because in all honesty... Hawks either never had the time for a relationship, it didn't last long anyway, or... he just hadn't found the right partner to go public with.

"Come on, Kid." Hawks reached down for your hand. "I don't mind the world seeing my date."

You smirked as you took his hand - and he hoisted you up with ease.

It was odd for the winged Hero to have someone not wanting to be in the spotlight with him. Call him at the top of his ego but... any other woman would have basked in the attention of being seen walking down the Red Carpet with the Number 2.

But here you were... worried about his reputation and image.

"You're so weird." Hawks teased.

"You're one to talk." You poked.

Hawks lowered his wings, only to guide your arm to wrap around his.

And holy hell... did the cameras, screams, and chaos erupt when you two emerged.

You were internally panicking, but you kept your outside composure for the sake of being in front of hundreds of gawking faces. Probably millions - as this was being filmed live as well!

This was the glamorous side of being a Pro. And if you were being honest with yourself... it was certainly overwhelming.

About now... you'd prefer to go against 20 more Battle Bots than having these cameras flash your vision away.

"Oh, my god!! IT'S HAWKS!!"

"HAWKS! OVER HERE!!"

"Who is that with him?"

"Is that his girlfriend? Really? Shoot, she's pretty."

"HAWKS! Sign this for me!!"

Hawks' fans were plastered against a railing a few meters to the side of the Red Carpet - obviously the public had a small crowded area where they could view the Pro Heroes entering the Gala.

"Heyoooo!" Hawks turned and waved enthusiastically to the mass of mostly screaming girls.

You smiled as you released his arm from yours.

Hawks looked back at you; slightly confused, as he wasn't expecting to leave your side. But you smiled at him and nodded towards the people that were practically begging for his attention.

You thought that his fans meant a lot. Even if some of them could be somewhat nuts - that was apart of his world. And you didn't mind it one bit. Hawks needed to acknowledge his fan base - because that was the whole other part of being a Pro Hero, right?

It was almost as if Hawks could read your thoughts in that very moment, and he never admired you more than right now. Simply for being a confident, understanding, and sweet human being. For just being you.
