I read. I hear the doorbell ringing. I wear a silk robe over my nightgown and open the door. I see Michael standing there.

"Thank God you're okay.", he says.

"Come in.", I say.

He gets in and takes his shoes off. We embrace warmly.

"Any news?", I ask.

"Mother let it sink in but Joseph is just so dramatic about it. But I don't give a fuck about him.", he says. "Did you tell Aunt Ava and Uncle Lawrence?"

"Yeah, Dad is okay and Mom is okay and happy.", I say and giggle.

"Me too.", he says and kisses my forehead. "Well, I actually came here for something."

"Umm, yeah?", I ask confused.

"Will you be my girl?", he asks.

I'm actually so shocked. He looks so nervous then.

"Michael, are you sure?", I ask.

"100 %", he says nervously.

"Of course, Michael. I'll be your girlfriend.", I say smiling.

He smiles and carries me spinning me around. I immediately kiss him passionately.

"I love you.", I say and hug him.

"I love you more.", he says.

Suddenly we see the door opened and Katherine and Joseph are here.

"How'd you open the door?", Michael asks shocked.

"We know that Ava puts the spare key under the welcome mat.", Joseph says. "Boy, get out!"

"No, Joseph! Charlotte is my girlfriend now. You have nothing to do with this!", Michael says sternly.

I hug Michael again tightly and he kisses my cheek.

"You know what, enjoy your lives.", Katherine says and smiles weakly.

Me and Michael look at each other smiling and he wraps his arm around my waist.

"We will.", Michael says smiling.
