"Happy birthday to you~"

I crouched to level Tory because she was holding my birthday cake.

"Make a wish, Ate Vienne ko! Happy birthday!" I smiled at her and pinched her cheeks.

I closed my eyes and pretended I was wishing for something to not disappoint my sister before blowing the candles. "Yay!"

I'm only celebrating my birthday with my family and of course, Tita Karen. I've been spending my birthdays with only them ever since. People may call it sad but it's actually not.  Besides, I am not good at handling and entertaining guests.

"So I guess I'm late again." Nilingon namin si Cole na kararating lang. He was wearing a khaki sweat shorts and a black oversized shirt. I smirked at him.

I don't even remember inviting you. I wanted to say. He greeted my parents and his Mom before going to me and Tory.

"Hello, Kuya C!" He just kissed her nose as his greeting. Then, he turned to me.

"Heard it's your birthday?"

I sarcastically smiled at him. "You look like s word." shit.

Lie. He still looks good even with his hair being a little longer and him losing a little weight.

"That's a very nice thing to say, Erica Vienne." He sarcastically answered. Napangiti ako. "I f word hate Histology."

"Thank you for coming," Busy siguro siya but he made time. "Even though I don't remember inviting you." I, jokingly, added.

He smirked. "I'm pretty sure that you invited no one." I rolled my eyes at him. "Besides, I need a f word break" He said while running his fingers through his hair.

"Ate Vienne, what is f word and s word?"

"Vienne! C! Let's eat!"

It was just a simple birthday dinner.

"How was your NMAT review, hija?" Tita Karen asked.

"I'm doing fine po, so far."

Lie. It's hard. So much harder than I thought it would be. If I don't study, I'm gonna fail. I need to have a high NMAT score to enter Placio Andres University— my dream Medical School.

"Hija?" Napalingon ako agad. Did I just space out?

"Po?"

"When's your NMAT exam?"

"Sa November po."

I was about to excuse myself because Tory already tugged my shirt which means she's sleepy when my Dad butt in.

"Ako na lang, Vienne." I nodded at him. Mama and Tita Karen are talking about something that I'm not interested about kaya si Cole nalang ang binalingan ko.

We ended up drinking together again at our garden.

"Is it hard?" I suddenly asked.

"What?"

"Medical School."

"It's fine, for now, I guess." "I'm still getting enough sleep."

"High IQ privilege." I commented. He just laughed while shaking his head.

"Do you think I can do it?" I asked.
