Day of the trial

I paced back and forth in my room. People would remember this day, for years and generations to come. There has been no other trial like it in history and yet it's during my reign that it happens. I hoped I would have stopped a bleak future when I took the throne from Ben but this could change it for the worst and I could have failed, the future I had seen had gone only to be replaced with an alternative.

"Get a grip, Bree." I muttered to myself "A Queen knows how to build an empire with the same stones that were thrown at her. That's that Granny always says. I will take this stone and add it to the foundation of something great." I run a hand through my hair and stare at myself in the mirror

"No matter what happens, this moment will not define you. It will not break you. You have to be strong for yourself and for them." I nodded to myself and turned on my heel making my way out. I had asked Audrey and Harry to meet me there and wait with everyone else. I was taken to the courts people were gathered outside and waiting for my arrival. I stepped out, signs attached to peoples grip called out for blood. The lingering threat to them put fear in their hearts and as their Queen, I had to, I needed to ease their fear.

I made my way inside and took my place at the front. It was supposed to be a fair trial, but when it was close those like this was. It would be hard, yet it needed to be done. I cleared my throat to address everyone.

"We are gathered here to pass judgement of a future of possibilities." I began "This is a trial of fear, fear for what has past and fear of what might come. You have deemed that in order to eradicate a dim future all together this is needed. I have listened to you and I have granted your wish. You will get your chance to ease the doubt in your minds of what i already know to be true.

But I remind you that this is no ordinary trial. It is not one of an error in judgment or someone who is like yourselves. This is the trial of a Prince and His Lady. My brother and his fiancee. I ask that you keep that in mind." I spoke and there was an air of silence before sitting down. Mal and Ben were then brought in.

"Prince Benjamin and Lady Mal, you have heard the charges brought before you. You will have your chance to speak and defend yourselves. However the prosecution speaks first. I must remind you that your fate of your lives are on the line today. You must not for one moment take it lightly." I declare then glance towards the seat of prosecution.

Prince Jeremiah Charming. Chad younger brother and in fairness more smart. He leads the society of second borns. He bows his head towards me and steps forward.

"The Queen is right, this is a trial of fear. However it is also trail of determination. We are determined that our Queen's sacrifice will not be in vain. That the nightmares she suffered for so long will never come to pass." he started

"Most of our country doesn't remember the nightmare, the warning she gave us, but members of our society do. Granted for whatever reason, our belief in her was not known but we do without a shadow of a doubt, put everything we have with her. I wish to remind everyone what we should not let come to be. Prince Ben, marries his Lady and together they rule or are at least supposed to rule over Auradon.

But here is the thing, her mother which she once defeated before returns, and when she does, she does not side with her husband or protect the country. No! She falters and resumes her evil ways at Maleficents side. Together they raise an army. She ends up corrupted and murders our King!" The people began to mutter as I look down, my nightmare being rehashed for all to know and remember.

"You do not remember the screams of anguish from her. The torment of losing her blood. The fight for life of ourselves and the ones we love against a heinous act of betrayal. One I might add that is not her first." a screen is brought in

"Since the day she has come to Auradon, she has tried hard to fight against her up bringing but has failed. Our Prince has forgiven her every time. There was the incident at the Coronation of Prince Ben, her running off back to the isle only to return and then the once fear Uma, let loose and letting her be a escapee for several months. It was Mal's actions against Uma that would bring what happened at Cotillion.

Then her almost Escape of her father Hades during the celebration of New VK's arrival. If you really think about it, problems started when she came along." he argued

"But I am getting a little head of myself. I mean Mal is a villain kid. Nature and circumstance raised her so, while she is at fault, she cannot have the complete blame on her. Prince Benjamin however...." Jeremiah took a breath and I shifted in my seat slightly

"i admit at first I like most were apprehensive about opening the barrier and bringing children of our enemies to live among us. But my mind was changed, most of the children of the people we feared are not that bad. We owe thanks to the Prince for changing our minds in retrospect.

Yet he has turned out to be worse than the kids of the villains. Not only does he not see fit to state that what his beloved has done is wrong on repeat occasions. He turned against his own sister, his own blood." Jeremiah pointed to me

"Queen Breanne was given a gift, not just to be equal to her own brother but to have a power the power of the enchantress. She saw the coming calamity, it plagued her, haunted her. What was she to do? What did she do, she confided in her brother. I will present witnesses and first hand account that our Queen named Lady Mal a threat and his actions were not to protect the crown or his own sister, but the woman beside him, the very threat he was warned against. I will prove that we must side with our Queen and make sure that the threat both of them pose to us should be remedied and quickly." Jeremiah sat back down.
