3. A Few Days

I successfully managed to avoid Logan on Friday. It's not that I didn't want to see her or anything but I can't keep it together if I see her all the time. Ever since our detention I can't be normal around her, all authority goes out the window and it's like I'm just chatting to my friend... that I just happen to have a thing for...

Now that it's Monday I actually have to try a bit harder to avoid her.

I did see Logan earlier in the corridor but I turned around before she could see me. Maybe I can get away with it for a few more days.

This movie isn't very interesting, that's probably why I'm just sitting here thinking about her. I can't stop, it's like she's moved into my brain. I should start charging her rent.

My gut told me that there is someone standing outside the door, I can feel eyes burning into the back of my head. I glanced over to the door hoping to be wrong. Of course not... I waved them in, I knew I couldn't avoid her.

"Hi..." Logan said, slowly opening the door.

I should tell her I'm busy... I patted the seat next to me for her to sit down. Guess that plan went out the window.

Logan smiled before taking a seat, she's so close to me right now I can almost hear her heartbeat. Maybe I should scoot further away...

Before I could move, Logan burst out laughing.

"What are you laughing at?" I said, still startled.

"I remembered something funny,"

Oh god, here we go, "What was it?" I have very little hope for this.

"Okay, what do you call a deer with no eyes?" She said, stifling a laugh. "No eye-deer,"

"Oh lord." That was awful.

"Listen, I know I'm not funny, but you gotta admit, that was funny,"

"You are funny Logi...but that one was terrible." I smiled, she's sweet when she's in a good mood.

Wait a second... Did I just call her Logi? I hope she didn't pick up on that, I didn't even realise I'd said it. I'll check my emails to act busy, hopefully she won't bring it up.

It's been 5 minutes and I think it's safe to speak.

I span around to look at her menacingly, "So Logan, what brings you to my office."

Logan shrugged, "I don't actually know. I just started walking and ended up here."

"Aww, you missed me," I said in my most patronising voice. What can I say, I enjoy winding her up.

"Fine. I guess I missed you." She admitted.

Thank you for that ego boost, "Well, I am pretty great."

"Are you now?" She challenged.

I must admit, I am slightly shocked that she had the cheek to do that, "Do you disagree?"

"Hmm." Logan thought.

I raised my eyebrow, attempting to intimidate her. Although I don't think it worked because she's just zoned out.

"Well?" I said, not changing my position.

"Peggy, you are brilliant." She said out of the blue.

Well, I was not expecting that response.

"Also...you can't intimidate me." She added.

Okay, now I'm offended, "Why not?"

"You can't punish me, Peggy."

I smirked, "Can't I now? Well, we'll see about that." I can think of a few ways.

"Mhm? And what are you gonna do?" She challenged leaning in closer to me.

I really should've moved away when I had the chance but instead I found myself moving closer to her.

"You'll find out," I smirked.

We're so incredibly close, I could just lean in and...

Suddenly the bell rang, causing us both to jolt apart. What the hell was that about? I should have moved away but instead, I moved closer.

"Right, you'd better get to class or you'll be late." I said, suddenly realising what could've happened if that bell didn't ring.

"Or I could just hang out with you."

What so I can sit here and pretend that was nothing? I don't think so.

"You know I'd love to let you stay but I don't want you to get detention." I half-smiled.

"How about you give me detention, that way I can't go to any others." She grinned.

"You haven't done anything for me to give you one." That probably wasn't the best thing to say because now she's thinking of reasons to get detention... "Stop thinking of things to do, I'm sure I'll be giving you detention at some point. That doesn't mean you can just deliberately do things to get them." I said sternly.

"Fine, I'll leave you be. Enjoy your free period, don't miss me too much." She smirked.

"You should visit me more often." I smiled.

"Same time tomorrow?" Logan winked.

"Sure, now go on get to class." I laughed, she's too good at this.

"Bye Peggy." She said on her way out.

"Bye Logi." I sighed.

And with that, I'm alone again. Left to sit here and battle my inner thoughts.

I'm never going to be able to control what comes out of my mouth, am I?

At least she's not put off by my boldness. I still can't believe I get to see this side of her, in class she acts like a clown but when she's with me she acts her age. God, her age... I know she's the oldest student here but that doesn't make it any weirder. Just because she's 17 and legal, doesn't make it easier for me to accept that I like her. Even if I am only 6 years older than her...
