Arthur Leywin pov:

"Sylvie... it's t-time to go," I said, my bond just looking at me in horror.

She reached up and wiped the tears streaming from my eyes, only to see her fingers covered in blood... my blood.

"A-Arthur, you're not going to make it," Sylvie said as I felt her consciousness go deeper into mine. I couldn't s.h.i.+eld my thoughts from her in my state anymore, leaving me an open book.

"The portal isn't...going to stay stable for much longer, Sylv. P-Please, I can't have you die too," I said, smiling while trying to keep blood from leaking out of my mouth.

A wave of blinding pain hit me and the pocket dimension rippled like a bubble about to pop. Disoriented, I tried to force Sylvie into the portal when she began glowing purple.

"Sylv? What are you—" My eyes widened in horror as I realized what she was doing.

The light spread until an all-too-familiar dragon was standing in front of me.

"Try to keep yourself alive while I'm gone, okay?" Sylvie said as she gave me a toothy grin.

"Sylv, no! Don't do this!" I screamed. Desperate, I tried to push her to the portal, but my hands went through her.

Sylvie's body was turning ethereal and she was fading as motes of lavender and gold began leaving her and attaching themselves to my body.

My body writhed in unimaginable pain at the sudden change it was going through, but I held on, unwilling to pa.s.s out. My vision was fading but I couldn't let her do this. I felt deep within myself looking at my core it was covered in cracks but not the ones to signify I was going to break through ones to show I was truly breaking. I could feel Sylvia's beast will coursing power through my veins but it felt like my core was holding me back.

I thought back to my training in Epheotus when Myre healed my legs. She couldn't make me a new pair because there was a price. But now that price doesn't matter. I just need to fix this.

The runes that were dimly shining became as bright as the sun. The motes of aether began swarming around me almost as if I had complete control over them. Something that was thought to be impossible. Right now what I felt was true power. I was still in immense pain from Sylvie's aether art however if I can get a he job done that's all that matters. Sylvia's runes that were covering my body were responding to my call. With every last ounce of my strength I begged the aether around me to help. I could feel Sylvia assisting me even after death. The aether began to vibrate all around as far as the eye could see. I could feel the power of aevium changing the world. Time was the only thing that can fix this mess I have created.

My core was now completely destroyed but it was complete I was writhing in pain but the true price to pay was my memories. I could feel them slipping away. My time in the war was becoming hazy and I couldn't remember the ones I had travelled with but I kept an iron grip on my knowledge that I had gained. If I had the knowledge of this world I can fix everything. Knowledge is power. It's time for a restart.

Arthur pov:

my vision of everything around me turned into a blur of bright red as sounds assaulted my ears. When I tried to say something, the only sound that came out seemed to be a cry.

The muffled voices became clearer and I made out a: "Congratulations Sir and Madam, he's a healthy boy."
