Miranda Priestly's protégé
Overview of chapter
Miranda Priestly was a person known for taking a chance especially when it came to her employees she had taken a chance on Andrea an old assistant she had started out with absolutely no fashion sense and left being a fashionista in a few months under her influence.
Miranda had come to Paris for the annual Runway gala, Audrey had also mentioned a very talented young designer, one that could lead the cutthroat fashion world in the future if she was influenced and taught right.
Thus Miranda Priestly had met Marinette Dupain Cheng. A month before Miranda had come to Hawkmoth had been defeated by Adrien's memories as Chat Noir had been wiped and he had been sent to London. Lila had been sent to jail when the police discovered she was helping Hawkmoth. When she was sent to jail everyone had discovered the truth.
Soon after all Marinette's old friends had all tried to apologise but she wouldn't forgive them even, Miss Bustier would try but she wouldn't. Miranda had taught to stand up for herself and not let people use her as a doormat anymore.
Even her parents had tried to talk to her, why you ask well a month before she began working with Miranda Priestly as her protégé she had been kicked out and disowned as their daughter. A week later Chloe had called and Marinette ended up telling her everything. Chloe, her best friend, was the only person she could trust even if she was in New York.
Chloe got her father to let her stay in a suite right next to Chloe's room that way when she would come back from New York on her school breaks they would be right next to each other.
Present
Miranda had gone back to New York and this time Marinette agreed to go with her, when she got there she met Nigel, a stylist that worked with Miranda. The second he saw her he loved her style and got her to twirl so he could see her outfit. He was very surprised when she said she had created her whole outfit plus accessories from scratch.
She also met Emily, her assistant. She was nice and thought Marinette was an intern when they had met, seeing as she was a high schooler. She was shocked when Miranda introduced her as a designer and her protégé.
Marinette had been working at Runway for about a month when Miranda had received a call from Audrey saying that she had a client who was wanting a custom suit made for himself and his sons. The problem was that Audrey was busy with a fashion event to do it so she asked Miranda if she knew someone who could do it and Miranda did know someone who could do it.
That was how one afternoon Miranda had called Marinette into her office saying she was designing custom suits for the people sitting in front of her and said this is the fashion world, expect the unexpected. She was right, nothing always goes right so Marinette needed to learn how to be prepared.
