This is very short and isn't my best work.

He knew full well that they were trying to hide the fact that they were beings that children were told about in fairytales or that literature professors would teach their students about and do a quiz on. But they didn't know. They didn't know that he knew about the secret that they tried so hard to keep but he couldn't bring himself to tell them, as much as it hurt to watch them fail miserably.

So, everyday, he acts oblivious, like he can't hear that they whisper about spells or magic behind his back or doesn't see the weird markings on the walls. But it pains him to lie and know that he had been lied to.
