The day went on until classes were over. Nothing worth noting went on. Most students went to their dorms to unpack. The Marauders had been walking around campus and catching up- well, after they ran from McGonagall, that is. As the four boys approached the painting door to the Gryffindor common room, it opened. Out walked Eddie Jones. He looked back for a second and sighed in disappointment after his eyes fell onto Sirius, clearly not wanting to leave his sister there if Sirius was there. "Just so you know, I'm coming right back. Don't get any ideas, Black."

"Wouldn't dream of it, Jonesy," he nodded, avoiding eye contact. He followed the others into the common room. There she was. The only one left. Jude was sat on the floor with her back against the couch. She was reading by the light of the fireplace. Her tie was undone and her jumper was tossed on the arm of the couch. She rather sloppily had her sleeves pushed up and socks rolled down. Her gorgeous gold curls were pinned into a bun.

Sirius tried to suppress a grin. James pushed him towards the couch and Peter laughed. Remus whispered, "Play nice." Then they ran off, James dragging Remus along.

Jude seemed too caught up in her book to notice the quiet chaos behind her. In Sirius's mind, this was the perfect chance to shoot his shot. Her brother was gone, no one else was around, and he was full of confidence. With a cheeky smile, he jumped over the back of the couch, plopping down behind her. She didn't seem startled. "Black? Where'd you come from?" She chuckled.

"The door," he smirked.

She rolled her eyes and hid a smile, turning back to her book.

Sirius peered over her shoulder. "What are you reading?" He made sure he was close to her. He couldn't help but notice the scent of apple pie and old books, possibly a hint of rain water.

Jude closed the book and showed him the cover. It read 'The Secret Garden'. "It's one of my favorites. Some of the themes are a bit outdated but I'm a sucker for a happy ending." She turned back and was met with his face an inch away from hers. They locked eyes. She found herself lost in them almost instantly.

"Well then, maybe I should give it a read..." His voice trailed off as he stared into her blue eyes. He leaned in but she cleared her throat and pulled away.

"I can lend you the book if you want," she looked away again.

Sirius laid back on the couch, wishing she didn't back away. "Yeah, that would be great." He didn't really have interest in the book but if it brought him closer to her, he would read it. Why the hell am I trying so hard? He thought. Usually all this was easy. He showed interest, flirted, and she was in his bed by lights out. But every time he tried to talk to her, he flubbed.

Suddenly he got one of his troublesome ideas. He jumped up and held out his hand. "Come on."

She smiled and cocked her head. "My brother is coming right back. I don't think he'd appreciate me heading off in the middle of the night to a mysterious place with a tall, dark, and handsome stranger who clearly thinks he's hot shit." A smirk grew across her face.

Sirius raised an eyebrow. "Handsome?"

She giggled. "Don't let it go to your head."

"Well," He pulled her up. "What if I told you where we were going?"

"You'd still be a stranger," she laughed.

"I'll always be a stranger unless you spend some time getting to know me... maybe we can get to know each other while we're in the mysterious place," He slowly pulled her along while walking backwards, getting closer to the door. "Besides, your brother won't even notice you're gone."

She laughed softly. "Yes, he will." She walked with him, allowing him to take her. "But, honestly, I've been dying to see the campus."

"Then where we're headed is perfect for you." He opened the door and squeezed her hand before running down the corridor with a big smile.
