At last, after what felt like a year or so even though it was just two days, it was Sunday. The awaited day.

I danced around my room excitedly, glancing at myself in the mirror as it reflected the gorgeous orange umbrella dress I wore on top of skin-colored stockings and black strap-shoes. I usually hate the color orange, especially if it's darker, but right now, I was literally in love with this dress because it's the dress that I wore to my first homecoming at school. I don't like to admit that I do like it, though.

Wait a minute, you just admitted it.

I did? Nevermind, then.

There was a knock on my door and I, who was too busy admiring my own reflection in the mirror to open the door even though it was right nearby me, called out absent-mindedly, "Come in!"

The door opened wide and I did just one more twirl before the inevitable happened.

I slipped.

Both my legs crossed each other during the final twirl I did and I ended up stumbling pretty roughly and falling forward.

A minute later, I was in Jasper's arms, looking up at him with wide eyes and a scream that had stopped midway through my fall stopped me from saying anything. He looked at me with a confused but amused face and then smirked, like usual. My hands were clasped tightly to the front of his sky blue sweater T-shirt and somehow regaining my composure, I took them back quickly as embarrassment crept upon my face visibly. "S-sorry, I - uh...," I stuttered, awkwardly looking down at my feet and not knowing how to apologize for nearly pushing him over.

"It's fine," he said nonchalantly, waving his hands, "Are you ready, anyways? I've been waiting for like, hours? I think."

Damn, he changed the topic before I would've done it myself.

"Hours? I started changing at eight, and it's half past eight now. How does that count as 'hours'?" I asked cleverly, finally using logic to argue him instead of stupid comebacks like 'shut up' and stuff.

"I was just testing if you knew how to check the time," he said jokingly and I rolled my eyes at him. Sure, liar, I believe you.

I exited my room with a purse that contained my phone, some money in case of any emergency, other important things and then the bags that contained the twins' gifts. During the meantime, Jasper got ready with closing all the windows and taking the car keys. I came out from my own room a while later, glancing at my watch and calling out hurriedly, "Jasper, I'm ready! Can we go now?"

He appeared from the closet and nodded. I did everything in a hurry and rushed here and there confusedly, realizing that we were pretty late - it was already forty five minutes past eight, and we had to reach there by nine. All I was sure of was that the twins' house was definitely more than fifteen minutes away, but not more than thirty minutes away. In that rush, I looked into the closet, feeling like I just saw him enter there. But when I looked in, he wasn't there. In fact, he was nowhere to be seen in the house. I walked - no, ran - around in a rush, my breath rushing rapidly at each stop I made around the house. What? Did he disappear into thin air, or is he planning to prank me again? Sure, this is indeed the right time for that.

"Jasper! Where'd you go?!" I yelled for him, but there was no response to any of my desperate calls.

I turned around furiously, getting ready to taunt him the very next second - when I suddenly faced the front door and saw him leaning against the door, watching me with a very amused smirk on his face. "What?" I asked, confused at what just happened. I'd been searching for him all along, how did he suddenly appear there? Am I imagining stuff due to this sudden rush?
