Carter helped me to the Great Hall while Dorothy used magic to transport Fred through the air.

As we walked through the Great Hall, I noticed all the injured people and all the dead ones.

Dorothy put Fred down on a blanket and then I noticed something drip down into my own leg.

I looked down and I stopped, forcing Carter to stop walking as well.

"Is that my blood?" I asked in a whisper and pressed a hand to my stomach, only to feel the hot liquid.

I looked at my hand.

It was covered in blood and then I looked at my stomach.

I was completely covered in blood and now I understood why I felt so faint.

"Oh..." I muttered, feeling my knees grow weak but Carter caught me just as my legs gave in.

"You're okay." He hurried to say, helping me to lie down next to Fred. "Kai, look at me."

I did. I looked at my brother who looked terrified but he tried to hide it.

"Most of the blood isn't yours." He said, but I knew he was lying. "You're alright, you hear me? It's just a little wound."

I brought my hand to my stomach again. I could feel a piece of glass sit in my skin.

My first instinct was to pull it out, but I couldn't. It sat so deep and instantly, Carter grabbed my hand and removed it.

"Don't!" he exclaimed before he looked at Dorothy. "You have to help her. I didn't know she was injured this badly."

"It doesn't hurt." I whispered while Dorothy hurried to my side. "I hope the baby's dead."

Carter froze.

"The baby? You're pregnant?!"

I didn't answer. I stared at the ceiling until Dorothy ran her hand over my forehead.

"Kai, darling. How far along are you?" She asked me.

"I don't remember." I whispered. "It's not Fred's..."

Dorothy glanced at Fred before looking at me again.

"It's your sons." I whispered, my eyes shutting. "Theodore..."

"Kai, can you hear me?"

My eyes opened and I stared at the ceiling, blinking a few times as the sounds all came back to me.

"Welcome back, love." The same voice spoke and my eyes met a pair of blue ones.

"I'm not dead?" I asked, and Charlie chuckled, patting my leg.

"Sucks, doesn't it?" He asked, tilting his head. "Waking up when you wish you didn't?"

I sighed and closed my eyes.

"Where is Dorothy?" I asked. "Did she help Fred? Is he okay?"

"Fred is fine." He told me. "He still hasn't woken up but he had some internal bleeding that Mrs Larch healed and he'll be okay. You on the other hand..."

I looked at Charlie again as he sat next to me.

"Your heart stopped." He told me. "Three times. We had to shock your heart alive each time."
