23. Secret

Past four months I'm halfway moved in with Ben because I'm spending the most time at his place.

"How are you feeling?" I asked looking at him as he was driving to his place, one hand on wheel and other on my thigh as my hand was on the top of his

"Me? I'm feeling so good" he said and looked at me for a second

"I'm so proud of you" I repeat stroking his hand that was on my thigh

"Thank you for being there" he said and looked at me taking my hand in his and leaving kiss on the top of it

"I will be there for every match from now on" I said quietly hoping he didn't, but he did hear me

"You will travel with me?" he asked confused

"Kind of" I said

"How do you mean kind of?" he asked

"I'll explain to you when we get at yours" I said

"okay" he said

"What is with all your job applications?" he asked few moments later

"Um, I didn't get any positive response" I said

"Really?" he asked surprised, and I nodded

"But how? You're doing amazing job, you were on practice in one of the best hospitals in London and you were on practice at Chelsea for four months, wasn't it enough?" he asked

"Looks like it wasn't" I said and few seconds later we were in front of his house

"Tell me about jobs, I can't believe you didn't get any positive response" he said looking at me as we were sitting around kitchen island eating dinner as we got back from the work shift, i.e., I got from work shift, and he got home from training

"I didn't get positive response, but someone sent me an e-mail asking ME to work for them" I said a little bit scared

"Wait, seriously? Who?" he asked surprised

"don't get mad please" I said

"Why would I get mad? You said yes to them, right?" he asked

"I did and that's why I'm scared to tell you" I said

"You have nothing to be scared of, it's just me Els" he said taking my hand in his

"Chelsea asked me to work for them" I said quietly

"you said.... you said Chelsea?" he asked

"yes" I said being scared to look up at him

"you're joking?" he asked

"I'm serious" I said and looked at him still scared

I don't want my job to influence on his career. I don't want him to have problems because of me and that's why I didn't tell him and why I was thinking about it for a week before I respond to them. It is a real dream come true for me, but I really don't want to influence on his career because he works so damn hard for a long time to be where he is.

"that's.... that's amazing" he said, and I looked at him confused

"that's amazing?" I asked

"Yes, that's amazing, that's why you told me you will travel with me from now on?" he asked holding my hand

"you're not mad?" I asked

"Why would I be mad? That's amazing and the most important, we won't be apart, we will always be together" he said

"I don't want it to ruin your career" I said

"It won't ruin my career" he said and laughed

"What if people will think I got a job because of you? I mean, you don't have nothing to do with this, right?" I asked

"No, it's all you Ela, I didn't even know they're watching for new physiotherapist, and I definitely won't do anything because it's your job, you have right to choose where you want to work not to me to influence on it. And no, people won't think, I won't let them think, that you got this job because of me. I know, everyone in Chelsea, Sophia, everyone from your college, knows what job you did to be where you are, and you well deserved it" he said placing kiss on the top of my hand

"it's all you Ela, don't think about bad things, it's no matter what others think, it's only matter what you want and where you want to be, it's all about you" he said and walked towards me cupping my face, so I looked up at him

"You deserved it and I'm so proud of you" he said and kissed me gently

After we ate, we took showers and went to bed. We were lying in bed, my head on his chest while he was playing with my hair, one of my legs wrapped around his as I was stroking his stomach.

"When are you starting?" he asked

"On Monday" I said

"You know, you should just come there the day after tomorrow and surprise me once again" he said sarcastically, and I looked up at him

"I was scared how would you react, I'm sorry" I said

"it's okay, just next time told me right away, okay?" he asked

"okay" I mumbled and kissed him on the cheek

"Goodnight, Els" he said kissing the top of my head

"Goodnight, Ben" I said and hugged him finally falling asleep
