27. Home Recovery

"Yes mum, don't worry, I will inform you later" he said lying in the living room "Okay, love you too, bye" he said

"You ready?" I asked him as he hang up

"yes" he said and took crutches walking over door as I took car keys and things I need to bring on work

"Do you need help?" I asked walking next to him

"I have four legs" he said what caused me to laugh

"Okay Benjamin, just carefully please" I said opening car's door for him

"What a gentleman, thank you very much" he said laughing

"you're welcome, ma'am" I said laughing and went on other side of car

"Home recovery for 6 weeks at the end of December we will make another scan and then we will know if you will need surgery or not, looking forward optimistically" doctor said looking at Ben

"okay" he said not much happy

"Take good care of knee, it will have an influence on further recovery" doctor said

"thanks" he said and walked out of office

I quickly went to my office leaving some paperwork there and soon enough I got back to Ben taking him home.

A WEEK LATER

"Okay Ben, I need to do few quick things at work, and I'll be right back home" I said putting my shoes on

"okay" he mumbled scrolling through his phone

"See you later" I said walking to him and kissing him

"See you later" he said and went back to his phone

"Yes.... okay.... yeah, yeah, I understand.... okay, I'll send you results" I said taking notes on what I need to do

As I finished conversation with main doctor, I took deep breath leaning my head back on the chair back. I need to stay longer at work, and I don't like it knowing Ben is home alone in pain.

"Hey, everything's okay?" I asked as he pick up a call

"Yes, don't worry" he said "you're acting like I am five years old kid who is home alone because mum left to go to store" he added what caused me to smile

"you're my kid now" I said smiling

"m-hm" he mumbled

"Ben? Are you sure everything's okay? You don't hide me?" I asked

"I'm fine Els, I'm just bored even more when I realize I'll be like this for few more months if I will need surgery" he said

"Does it hurt a lot?" I asked

"it's a bit better now" he said

"What are you doing?" I asked

"Watching something on TV, I don't even know what it is" he said and laughed

"Sounds funny" I said sarcastically

"m-hm, you can imagine" he said

"Um...I need to stay longer at work, but I'll hurry as much as I can" I said

"I'm fine, don't worry, just finish what you have" he said "all the time before we met, I was all alone at house, I'm adjusted on it" he added

"But now I'm with you and I don't want you to feel lonely" I said, and I could hear him giggle

"Okay, get back to work" he said

"See you soon" I said

"See you soon" he said

"Ben" I said before he hangs up

"Yes?"

"Do you need something from store or somewhere?" I asked

"No, I have everything, thanks for worrying" he said

"Okay, if you need something call or text me" I said "see you soon" I added

"See you soon" he said

"Love you" I said

"I love you too" he said and by his voice I can tell he was smiling what was my goal

As I finished at work, I quickly went to store to buy some vegetables for lunch even I'm not sure Ben would want to eat it, but I will make something up.

"Hey, I'm back" I said as I entered house taking my shoes and jacket off

"Yes, com' on, YESS" I heard someone else's voice as I walked through hallway to the living room, am I that blind that I didn't saw another car in front of the house?

"Um, hey" I said entering living room

"Oh, Els, hey, I didn't hear when you came in" Ben said surprised looking from TV to me

"So there the mysterious girl is" the guy said smiling at me

"Um, Els, this is Harvey, my long-time best friend" Ben said

"Nice to meet you, I heard a lot of things about you" he said smiling and raising his hand to me

"Nice to meet you too, I hope you heard good things about me" I said and lightly smiled

"of course, Ben's obsessed with you, he constantly talks about you" Harvey said and I could see Ben blushing for the first time since we met

"Um, I'm going to do something for eat, are you okay with fried vegetables and chicken?" I asked

"That would be so okay" Harvey said

"Ben, do you need something?" I asked before I went to kitchen

"Nope, Harvey gave me everything I needed" he said raising joystick and bottle of water as smile was on his face

"okay" I said and smiled

"Harvey, do you want something for drink?" I asked

"I already have it, don't worry" he said, and I went to kitchen to make lunch

As I was making vegetables and chicken, I was smiling at the sight a bit away from me. Ben is finally relaxed and have fun and I can just thank Harvey for that. Past a week Ben was the whole time in bad mood, some days past that we barely spoke a single word because he was frustrated with everything that was around him.

"lunch's ready guys" I informed them so they can finish the match

"Hey, what are you doing?" I asked seeing Ben on crutches

"I'm going to lunch?" he said asking

"Get that ass back on the couch before you make me mad" I said pointing to couch as he was looking at me confused

"I'm serious Ben, go back to couch, we will eat there with you" I said, and he just sat back on the couch

After we ate our lunch, Harvey was here for few more hours, so I had a bit time for rest and relax. I was sitting on the edge of couch looking at them playing games and having fun what was enough to make me less worry about Ben.
