"Daesung, what a surprise." The younger girl dodged his sword and nudged him towards Jisoo. The raven quickly took the chance to kick his side, making him stumble against the rope around the arena. It didn't take long for him to drop to his butt.

Jisoo mouthed an apology to Daesung who smiled and gave her two thumbs up.

"How many left?"

"So far only three out. Not including us, ten left."

"Psst! Unnie." They turned to see Jinseok nervously holding his sword. "Could you do me a favour?"

"Anything but giving up." Jisoo frowned while informing him.

"Quite the opposite." He threw a weak punch at her and watched Jisoo catch his arm. "Good. Now just throw me down and declare me defeated. I promised Somin and Jiwoo to take them to the valley and they're waiting for me there."

"We are quite literally battling for the position of the Commanding General. Why is nobody taking this seriously?" Lisa questioned.

"This is not a great matter to anyone that does not care about power. In the end we will fight together." He shrugged at the older girl. "Now about that favour..."

"Don't act too dramatically."

Jisoo pretended to push him away and kick him down. He winced with exaggeration and winked as the guards dragged him away.

"I just told him to not be dramatic." Lisa laughed at her disappointed sigh.

"How many left?"

"Including us. Seven."

"Good. Just five more to go."

The girls decided to split up quickly and take care of two other men which didn't go unnoticed by the crown princess.

"They're very good. Although is this not a bit unfair?" Nayeon watched the way Lisa backed up to help pull off the guy who was on Jisoo.

"No. Nothing in the rules state the soldiers cannot help each other. Only, many are too selfish to offer their help to each other." Jennie unknowingly smiled at Jisoo.

"How many?" The raven heaved out.

"Including us," Lisa took a second to catch her breath. "Three."

Jisoo turned to see the Emperor keenly observing them. Only Jiyong, Lisa and Jisoo were left in there.

The crowd eagerly watched their every move. They could no longer help each other.

"Do you want to leave now?"

"No. He will find a way to injure you." Lisa muttered under her breath. "Let me help weaken him before leaving."

Jisoo nodded and watched Jiyong smile through his bleeding teeth. Someone must've hit him right in the mouth. Well deserved.

"What do we have here?" His gnarly grin was pointed at Jisoo, then to Lisa. "I guess I will have to finish two weaklings on my own."

"Try if you can." As soon as the word left her mouth, Lisa moved to dodge the sword that came at her shoulder. It left Lisa with a cut by her arm which made her wince in pain."

"Keep her out of this!" Jisoo barely managed to punch his jaw, making him lose his stance enough for her to push him back.

Jiyong stumbled back for balance as she checked on Lisa.

"I'm fine. I could still stand. He won't let you leave out of here undamaged."

"She's right." They failed to see him approach once again, the edge of his sword barely gracing Jisoo's face. "You will never amount to me."
