Severide's POV:
Once everybody got out, I just took a breath considering I was a little worried. God, that was crazy being back where Andy died. Walking over to Casey, I went to hug him right away and just took a breath. "God, that was crazy." Matt nodded and agreed with me when I said that. "We all safe?" I then turned to check that everybody was out. "My truck's here." Herrmann then agreed with me. "So is mine." That's when Pelham spoke up. "I'm missing one." Matt's ears perked up when he said that. "Truck 81, assemble!" We then all looked to see who was missing.

Casey just looked at me. "OTIS!" We all got scared when he said that and then just turned to look at the house. "Chief, I can go back and get him." Matt then shook his head when I said that. "No, I can't let you go back in Kelly. Think of your twins!" I just sighed when he said that because I knew he was right. I can't just let him go. But this is just horrible. We lost another guy here at the same house. And he was under my watch as Captain...and it's Matt's first day as Chief. He just looked at me and teared up while going to do the sign of the cross. "Another one, here again."

That's when Boden walked over to us. "Guys, you okay?" Matt then turned to look at him and sighed. "First day, first fire, first line of duty death." Boden just looked at him when he said that. "Who?" Matt sighed and bit his lip. "Otis." Chief just nodded when he said that. "Matt, I will help you do this okay? These calls are never easy. Want me to?" Matt just sighed when Boden asked him that. "Yeah, I am not ready to do it....not when it happened here where Andy died." Chief agreed with Matt when he said that. "I got it Casey. You go watch your house." Casey sighed.

He then turned to look at me. "He's with Andy now." I nodded and agreed with him. Casey then went to yell. "Firehouses 51 and 20. Let's all grab some hoses and put this out." I then went to walk away when Matt stopped me. "You too Severide. We are putting this out together for Otis." I nodded and agreed with him when he said that, turning to look at Squad. "Squad 3 and 5, let's grab some hoses and help put this out." That's when I saw Cruz worrying. "Chief, where's Otis?" Matt then went to walk over to him and just sighed. "Severide, I am going to take him aside."

I nodded and agreed with Matt when he said that. We all knew that Cruz and Otis had a special relationship and Matt needed to tell him himself. God, I feel so bad for him. I know what it's like.

Matt's POV:
As I pulled Cruz aside, I just looked at him and sighed. "Cruz, I am sorry to say this but....we believe that Otis is still in there." Cruz just looked at me when I said that. "What! Then I need to go back..." I stopped him. "Cruz, listen to me. You have Chloe to think about. Do you want to be with her in the long run?" Cruz nodded when I asked him that. "Then just like I had to do with Andy...you need to do the same. Now, go sit in Squad 3 and breathe. I will call the Chaplain for you." He nodded and agreed with me when I said that, going to walk away to go sit in Squad 3.

" He nodded and agreed with me when I said that, going to walk away to go sit in Squad 3

That's when I walked over to the frontline and decided to help with the fire. Going to join Truck 81, everybody looked at me. "Chief?" I nodded. "Until a couple hours ago, I was one of you. I am saying goodbye to Otis just like you. Pelham, being me." Pelham agreed with me when I said that. Going to grab a hose, I went to go start spraying the house and just sighed because I hated this. I lost a man on my first day as Chief. And this was not fun since it was here of all places. I should almost tell them not to send us to this place since we always have bad luck here. Just taking a breath as I helped put out the fire, I was still shocked at what happened here today.

Once we finished putting the fire out, I took a breath as I watched the trucks clean up. Going to walk over to Severide again, I went to hug him and just sighed. "Bring your truck back to the house. Get your crew to relax. Boden already called HQ and they are going to talk to his family. Just get your truck back to the house." Severide nodded and agreed with me when I said that. "Of course. I will tell Gabby that everything's okay." I nodded and agreed with him, walking away to Boden. "I just spoke to the CFD. They are going to talk to his family." I nodded and agreed with him when he said that. "Can you try and get the house on break for at least a little?"

Boden nodded and agreed with me when I said that. "That's the plan. Listen, if this is making you change your mind..." I shook my head. "Can you go to Firehouse 20 and deal with Delaney? I am not in the mood to talk to him. Heck, right now...I just want to go sit with my kids and cuddle up to them. I still have to tell Gabby that we just lost another guy here." Chief agreed with me and nodded when I told him that. "Matt, I am so sorry this happened on your first day." I sighed. "It's okay. Now, should we keep them here?" Boden bit his lip. "It's early in the day. We need each other." I nodded and agreed with him when he said that. "Okay then, break please?"

Boden nodded and agreed with me. "I will. Just go back to Gabby." I nodded and agreed with him when he said that. Going to walk over to my jeep, I just sighed and then went to grab my keys as I prepared to drive to the firehouse. First, I just sat back and took a breath before hitting the steering wheel. "FUCK!" I just took my frustrations out and sighed. Boden turned to look at me when he saw me and just sighed. "Matt, breathe and relax. Remember, you are a chief." I nodded and agreed with him when he said that. "Of course. See you later." Boden nodded and agreed with me when I said that. Taking one last breath, I proceeded to drive back to the house.
