Chapter 137

Matt's POV: Once me and Gabby finished getting ready for bed, I came out to see her doing some breathing in bed. However, I also knew that she was thinking about what she said. Does she really not enjoy it when we have sex right now? Does it hurt her? Does it make her feel bad? You know what, you're just overthinking this. Let Gabby talk to you and then you can work this out. Heck, it may be nothing. I mean, do I really need to worry about this unless she tells me something that I need to worry about? I mean, if I'm hurting her...then of course I need to worry about it. But I just hope that she knows that I'm not hurting her on purpose. That's when I saw Gabby come out of the washroom in her (my) sweats that she loves to wear. "My sweats."

Gabby laughed and agreed with me when I asked her that. "Of course they are, you know that I love wearing your sweats." I nodded and agreed with her when she told me that. Putting my hand out, I invited her to join me in bed. I want to talk about this and just let her get it out. I can already see that she is worried...and that's not good with her being pregnant. I'm sorry if I'm not ready for an early delivery like Jay and Erin had. That's when Gabby came to walk over to me and just smiled as she got up onto the mattress and then crawled over to me. Laying down on my chest, Gabby cuddled up to me and just wrapped her arms around my torso. Going to tug the covers up, I wrapped my arm around her and smiled as I went to kiss the top of her head.

Looking up at me, Gabby sighed. "Sorry if I'm making you feel this way right now." I shook my head when she said that. "Hey, you aren't making me feel a certain way okay? Just know that I'm here for you and that's never going to change. Now, I do want to talk about this so...I hope that you are going to open up to me." Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I said that, taking a breath. "I guess...the biggest thing on my mind is how much having sex gets my blood pumping." Wrapping my arm around her, I looked down when she told me that and just agreed with her when she said that. "I mean, what if I get too excited and work too hard?" I agreed with her when she asked me that, going to put my hand on her neck to try and get her to relax.

Stroking her cheek as I just held her in my arms, I felt Gabby breathe and was glad that she was going that. "Then again, I also know that nothing is going to happen because you are going to protect me." I nodded and agreed with her when she said that, moving to kiss her forehead again to try and give her as much comfort as I possibly can. "You bet I will." Gabby laughed and agreed with me when I told her that. "So, what else is bothering you babe?" Gabby sighed when I asked her that and just looked up at me. "I guess, just the stress this puts on me. It's giving me a little flashback to when it happened to us." I agreed with her when she said that before going to kiss her forehead softly. "Trust me when I say this, I feel the same way." Gabby agreed with me.

"You know that you can talk to me about this right Gabby? I'm here for you and I know exactly how you feel because I feel the same way." Gabby agreed with me when It old her that and just went to kiss her forehead again. She needed to relax and I just hoped that what I was doing was helping her do just that. "How are you doing though Matt? You must have some feelings similar to what I'm feeling." I agreed with her when she said that and sighed. "For me it's more though." Gabby just looked at me when I said that. "Babe, I get you didn't have the aneurysm but....you were asleep last time you had to be rushed into surgery while you were pregnant." Gabby agreed with me when I said that. "It brought you back to that time didn't it?" I nodded and agreed.

"Of course it did Gabby. That was a day that I thought that I was going to loose you...and it would've been my fault." Gabby shook her head when I said that. "Hey, don't even think that Matt....it would not have been your fault." I sighed when she said that and just looked down at her. "Gabby, I was the one who got you pregnant..." Gabby agreed with me when I said that and just sighed, understanding where I was coming from. "So Gabby, when I say that it would've been my fault...it's because that is what I honest to god believe." Gabby agreed with me when I told her that. Going to kiss her forehead, I just went to rub her back and sighed. "I don't know why these emotions are all coming out...I guess I have been holding them back for a while."

Gabby agreed with me when I said that. "Matt, you can't do that okay? I'm your wife and I need to know about this stuff. I need to be able to help you through these things." I nodded and agreed with Gabby when she told me that. "I know...I guess I'm just scared right now." Gabby agreed with me when I told her that and just smiled at me. "Hey, you don't think I know that...ever since this happened, you have been holding me very tight." I nodded and agreed with Gabby when she said that. "Yeah, I guess it's a coping mechanism." Gabby agreed with me when I told her that and just went to rub my chest. "Just promise me that you are going to talk to me Matt?" I nodded and agreed with Gabby when she asked me that. "Of course."

Gabby smiled when I told her that. Going to kiss the top of her head, I smiled because it made me feel better. God, I am so worried right now. Why do I even feel this way when it's not Gabby? Whatever, all I know is that I am so glad that she's safe right now. "Just promise me that you take it easy for a while Gabby? I know that this won't happen but..." Gabby shook her head when I said that and just smiled at me. "Hey, I get what you are trying to say. And you're right that this won't happen. But, I know that you're worried right now. If you want me to rest, then I am going to rest okay." I nodded and agreed with Gabby told me that. I then went to lean my forehead against hers and just smiled at her. "God, I love you so much." Gabby smiled and agreed.

That's when I heard my phone ding and just sighed. Gabby then looked up at me and nodded. "Go ahead and check it. It may be an update on Erin and their baby." I agreed with her when she said that. Going to read over to grab my phone, I went to check the text message.

Jay: Hey Matt. Hank, my brother and Nat just took off from Chicago w Jayson. Can you stay up til' they get there? Maybe 4-5 hours? I told them they can stay there if that's ok.

Matt: Of course they can stay here. You want us to clean up your room for them? Maybe Gabby can pack up a bag for Erin? Then we can put the rest away for your brother?

Jay: My brother can do it. They are coming here, dropping off Jayson and then they'll be there. Thanks though. I just wanted to let you know. 

Matt: Sure thing, how are you guys holding up? How's Mac doing? How's Erin doing?

Jay: Erin's pumping...Mac is being monitored in NICU but we have a camera in there. We're both a mess. Can you maybe pray for us and our lil' girl? 

Matt: Hey, of course we can. Maybe we can visit tomorrow? Then we can bring Jayson back for a nap while your brother stays with you at the hospital?

Jay: I'd like that but...we'll play it by ear. Hank might do that instead for us. Sorry if he stays in the room for a bit. Not sure if he's getting a room or not.

Matt; It's fine Jay. I can put up with him. I know that you would do the same if we were in this situation. Just take a  breath and stay calm. It'll be ok. Your in our thoughts.

Jay: Thanks Matt. Talk later. Can you text us when they're at the hotel?

Matt: Of course. I will let you know. 

Jay: Thanks. Talk later.

Going to set my phone down, I went to look at Gabby. "So, that was Jay." Gabby agreed with me when I said that. "How's Erin and the baby?" I smiled when she asked me that. "She's doing good. However, Jay told me that his brother and Hank are on their way. They are bringing Jayson for them." Gabby agreed with me when I said that. "He asked me if I can go get their room cleaned up. I'm going to tell Antonio that they're coming too okay?" Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I said that. "Oh and I said we could take care of Jayson for them so..."

Gabby agreed with me when Is aid that. "Hey, of course we can...at least, while we are still here. Sorry but, I am not going to spend my entire honeymoon watching a kid that isn't ours." I smiled and agreed with her when she said that. Going to wrap my arms around her, I just smiled as I held her close to me. "Listen, let's just relax for a while until they all get here." Gabby nodded and smiled when Is aid that, coming to cuddle up to me more. "Yeah, I think that's a good idea." I nodded and agreed with Gabby when she said that because I knew it was a good idea. God, with all this stress going on around us...we may need a vacation from our vacation.

NOTE TO READERS: I am skipping to when Will and Natalie are there. Might give you a bit of Manstead for a while because I think that this story might now become a One Chicago story.
