Chapter 72

Jay's POV: Once we all finished having lunch together, I smiled as me and Will stood in the kitchen together to do the dishes. Meanwhile, Nat and Erin were just relaxing in the living room and talking for a bit. After all, they were pregnant and still needed a bunch of rest. But what I didn't expect was for my brother to join me in the kitchen. I thought that he was going to sit down. Then again, I am pretty sure that he wants to check on me too. He must know that it isn't easy on the husbands when their wives are suffering...which I can definitely attest to.

"So, I hope it's not out of the blue that I am going to come stand with you." I shook my head when he asked me that and just shook my head. "No, I expected it actually." Will nodded and agreed with me when I said that. "Yeah, I guess I want to check on your mental health." I sighed when he said that and just turned my head to look at Erin. "I'm doing okay based on the circumstances." Going to rub my back, Will sighed before going to grab a towel to start drying the dishes. "What's the hardest part right now?" I bit my lip when he asked me that.

"I guess, just the knowing that she is still pregnant...but with only one baby rather than the two that we were expecting." Will agreed with me when I said that and nodded. "I am so sorry that's the case man. I just hope that you know that I am always here for you. If you need to talk, then you can always talk to me." I nodded and agreed with Will when he said that, knowing that's the case. "Heck, the truth is...I have been thinking about going to my VA counsellor for the first time in a while." Will was shocked when I said that. "Really?" I nodded when he asked me that. "Yes."

Will just got worried when I said that. "Can I ask why?" I bit my lip when he asked me that. "Not our first miscarriage. " Will turned his head to look at me when I said that. "Okay, back up now...you miscarried before?" I sighed and agreed with Will when he asked me that. "Honeymoon. We were actually pregnant at our wedding." Will was shocked when I said that. "Wow." I nodded and agreed with him when he said that. "We miscarried on July 4th." Will just looked at me when I said that and came to hug me. "Wait, I thought you guys were in LA then."

I shook my head. "We were at the cabin. We didn't travel because we were pregnant. Heck, you are the first person I am telling this." Will agreed with me when I said that. "I am so sorry man. That must've been a blow to your marriage." I shrugged and agreed with him. "We were just having fun...and then 10 days after our wedding, we miscarried our first child. We didn't find out the gender." Will agreed with me when I said that. "I am so sorry man...that is just brutal." I agreed with him when he said that. "So trust me when I say this, we are done after this."

Will nodded and agreed with me when I said that. "God, I understand why." I nodded and smiled when he said that. Turning to look at Erin, I smiled at her. "She has been a rock star though." Will nodded and agreed with me when I said that. "The stuff that your wife has gone through during her entire life." I nodded and agreed with her when she said that and smiled. "Yeah, it's been hard on her." Will just nodded and smiled when I said that. "Hey, at least now she has you." I nodded and smiled when he said that. "It's the other way around...it's that I have her."

Will nodded and just smiled when i said that, agreeing with me. "So, what are we going to do? We just going to stand here or are we going to go sit with our wives?" I laughed and smiled when he asked me that. "Let's get them some water first." Will agreed with me when I said that. "You get the water jug in the fridge, I got the cups." He agreed with me when I said that. Going to walk over to the cupboard, I went to get us some glasses while Will got the water jug in the fridge. Bring it over to me, Will smiled as he went to go set the water down for me.

"To think, I still can't believe that we are both having kids in the same year." I nodded and agreed with him when he said that. "Honestly, I know that I can. I am ready to have another kid." Will agreed with me when I said that and just smiled at me. "I know how much you love Jayson, so I can tell that you are going to love your daughter just as much." I nodded and agreed with Will when he said that, smiling. "If not more. I mean, I hope that she's a total daddy's girl." Will laughed when I said that. "Dude, I think that she is going to be a mama's girl. I see it now."
