It was 7 AM in the morning. Shouta's arm was wrapped around Katsumi's waist from behind. His lips parted, breathing softly against her neck while they both slept.

Sayuri noticed her son wasn't on the couch this morning, so her next guess was he was in his room. She knew it was wrong to walk in unannounced, but she had to see for herself.

She smiled softly seeing her son cuddle against his old friend. Not many people know this, but Shouta sleeps better when he's with someone.

Even as a kid, he would ask to sleep with his mom cause he felt more at ease.

Sayuri thought he would break outta that habit, but she would catch him sleeping on the floor in Katsumi's room back when they all used to live together. That's when he started getting sleeping bags.

Sayuri redirected her attention to Katsumi and lightly giggled. She remembered teasing Katsumi, saying that she faked slept because she always looked peaceful and perfect. Hearing Katsumi fight for her life day by day, defending that she was actually sleeping was something she enjoyed.

Her grumpy little pout, her saying wave in my face or tickle my feet to prove her innocence, Sayuri enjoyed every minute of it.

Sayuri just knows that Katsumi hasn't changed a bit. She feels it in her bones. She would never pass on an opportunity to defend herself.

She quietly walked up to the bed and tried to contain her laughter as she waved in front of Katsumi face to see if she was sleep.

As expected, there was no response. As a joke, she squinted and mouthed the word faker.

She kissed her forehead before leaving back out into the living room, where she proceeded to make coffee.

Shouta P.O.V

*An hour later*

" *sighs and feels around* She left didn't she?"

I guess it was to good to be true, but to be frank, I'm sick of her leaving me.

I got out of bed, grumpier than usual and headed to the kitchen to be greeted by my mother. She sat a cup of coffee in front of me in hopes to cheer me up.

"Your favorite. Black", she smiled.

"Did she say anything before she left"

"Well good morning to you too"

"Good morning. Did she say anything?"

"She apologizes for leaving before you woke up, but she said she had business matters to attend to. Business or not, I had her eat breakfast before she left"

"Anything else?"

"Her friend was here too. She invited me to a party their having tonight"

"Party?"

"I can bring a guest, so I was hoping you would join me"

"No thank you. I'll pass"

"I know your not much of a party person-"

"Which I'm not"

"But I know how much you want to talk to Katsumi, so this is your chance"

"Chance to what? Talk? Whatever party their having tonight, I'm sure she'll be hosting it"

"Ok and?"

"And that means she'll be busy. I'm not going"

"But you'll be a guest. If she's hosting then it's her job to attend to her guest, right?"
