MEW'S POV

It has been a couple of months since Gulf is back from the hospital . I have made it my prime duty to feed Gulf with small bites of fruits, dry fruits , cakes or eggs from the tiffin I have started carrying from home . Somsak uncle would also sometimes pack bottles of juices or a container of chicken soup .

Since classes had started full on and we were on the roller coaster ride with Physics , Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology . Gulf has become more strict with himself as well as with me these days . If I sulk sometimes not getting TLC from him , he always gives me a peck on my lips saying "once we clear our entrance exam I have a surprise for you . Now lets study , we don't have much time to spare . " Seeing Gulf's determination only made me work harder. The other day Gulf asked me "Mew what will you study in University ? I will study medicine , if you choose to study something else , I will be happy for your choice but I really don't know how I will breathe without you ."

Till then I had not thought what my course of action should be but when Gulf talked about it , without any hesitation , as if it was predetermined I said " I will study medicine too , In the same Uni as you of course . How will I live without my heart beat ? Silly boy . " The smile that he gave could have saved the Titanic by melting the iceberg . During the months post Gulf's hospitalization Dad recommended a clinical psychologist for treating Gulf's phobia . He is showing really positive signs of recovery . And I told Dad about my future plans .

FLASHBACK

During breakfast in Suppasit mansion

Me : Dad can you transfer 50,000 bahts to my account?

Dad: Why ? Do you need to buy some new gadgets or are you planning on some holiday ?

Me : No Dad it is the fees for Medical entrance exams coaching . I have already won a scholarship . So I have to pay only 50% of the total fees .

Dad : Hmmm, It is not easy to get into Med school . Are you sure ?

Me: Yes Dad , I am 100% sure . Are you trying to discourage me because you are afraid of some competition in the future. ?

Dad (amused): Are you planning on surgery ?

Me: No way ... I am far too clumsy for that . I was actually thinking of Pediatric Medicine .

Dad : You have really thought this through . When did you plan all this ?

Me : When Gulf was planning Cardio-Surgery a month ago . Gulf said I can't run the SJ Group of Hospitals if I do not know the basics of Medicine . Everyone will cheat me . And I think he is right .

Dad : I had no idea that my son has grown into such a fine young man .

A WEEK BEFORE THE CLASS 12TH BOARD EXAMS

I was sitting in the classroom waiting for Gulf who had gone to meet the Principal . A few of my friends including my gang were with me discussing the plans for a holiday in Bali after our exams . Classes were over two weeks ago and we were only in school to collect our admit cards .

Udi , our classmate came running ," Prince check the class whatsapp group . Keith has spread all sorts of nonsense about Gulf . " I took out my cell phone from my pocket and checked the class group . "Did you see , he said that Gulf is your slut and is pregnant with your child . " Udi continued knowing there will be a big brawl coming up .

"Where is Gulf ?" I enquired

"Still in the administrative block " Someone answered .

" Let's get this Keith . From today he won't have a mouth to speak nonsense anymore ." I said and got up.
