"Two months until the next task and another three— almost four— until I see the Tonks," (Y/n) said as she, Cho, and Marietta exited the Transfiguration classroom. "I think this'll be a great year."

"Oh, for sure," Cho agreed. "You and Cassius back on speaking terms?" she whispered as said boy came striding closer.

"We are not," (Y/n) said, walking right past him with her nose in the air.

"(Y/n)," Cassius groaned, jogging after her. Cho and Marietta exchanged a glance before following at a distance.

"The pests are sure out early this time of year!" (Y/n) said coolly. Cassius burst into laughter, effortlessly falling into step with (Y/n), who still refused to look at him.

"(Y/n), my love?" Cassius cooed. (Y/n) looked away, trying to hide her smile.

"You and your pet names will not sway me!" (Y/n) said, halting when they reached the entrance hall.

"Sure they won't!" Cassius snarked enthusiastically. "So... The Yule Ball."

"Oh? That very Ball that you abandoned me at?" (Y/n) asked. People in the entrance hall were slowing their steps to listen in on the drama.

"What're you on about?"

"One dance. One dance was all I got," (Y/n) said angrily.

"That's a laugh!" Cassius huffed. "I was trying to find an open slot all night but there you were dancing with half the guys at Hogwarts!" There were oohs and hisses heard from the peering people.

"Real nice!" (Y/n) jeered. "I can really feel the affection behind your apology!" She threw her hands up in frustration. Cassius snatched her hands and pulled them back down, staring into her eyes.

"You didn't give me a single chance that evening!"

"What?!"

"Don't I get the chance to make it up to you?"

"Go make it up to your little friend whose feelings are so more important than your girlfriend's!"

"Lizzie? Is that what this is about?" Cassius scoffed. "(Y/n), she didn't have a date—"

"And neither did I, apparently!" (Y/n) huffed. "Bloody hell, Cassius! It's all right for you to go and run off with a girl best friend but the second I'm in ten feet of Neville, there's a problem?!"

"That's different."

"How do you figure? Communicate with me," (Y/n) insisted. She backed down slightly at the number of eyes on her, and, even more so, at the curious stare of the all too pretty blonde girl Cassius was dancing with. "Forget it. I'm leaving."

"(Y/n)—"

"I've gotta go. I'll miss my audition!" (Y/n) said, removing her hands from Cassius' hands.

"Don't go— Let's just— Talk to me, please," Cassius pleaded.

"I don't need this. It's bad for my aura," (Y/n) said, muttering a: "Clear skies, clear skies, clear skies, happy thoughts," under her breath. "Come back with a nomination-worthy apology and maybe— just maybe— I'll forget about you humiliating me and calling me a harlot," she said bittersweetly, walking backwards. "You're on thin ice, Warrington! Thin bloody ice!" And then she stormed out of the entrance hall and through the front doors. Cho scurried after her, 'accidentally' stomping on Cassius' foot as she went.

"Good going, Cassius," Theodore said, tossing an arm over Cassius' shoulder.

"That's never a good thing coming from you," Cassius told him coolly.
