billie

"are you sure she did not see what was inside the box?" drew asked from the driver's seat as we all waited in the drive thru to get our food. mikah mindlessly scrolling through his phone in the back. drew and i were both stoned as shit so we decided to get some taco bell.

"i'm positive. but she did see it and all at the party. i know my ass should've been more careful" i confessed, running a hand through my hair and staring at the car in front of us as memories from that night replayed in my head. "but ultimately, she was too drunk to even care or to even remember anything."

drew nodded before i continued. "bro the way she would yell at me or like kick me out of her house if she saw me with that shit" i told her truthfully with a small chuckle, referring to my glock.

'yeah probably but it's not like you're gonna do shit with it, bil"  drew sent me a look and for a second i hesitated to shake my head no.

i just want to end my demons before they end me

today is the big day. my parents and billie are finally meeting. of course i have yet to decide whether i want them to know their daughter is dating a girl or if i want to wait a little longer before dropping the bomb. to be honest, i'm surprised myself to even be dating a girl. this is all new to me but i'm not complaining. we have our days but our chemistry is unmatched. it's like this was bound to happen, and although i didn't realize it right away when i first interacted with her, i feel like my heart knew right from the start she'd play an important role in my life.

not much has happened in the first week of dating. we've worked at the diner, she's spent time with her friends and i've done a lot of catching up with poppy. it's been a nice week except for today. it's thanksgiving and billie hasn't shut up, asking me if my parents are gonna be bringing a turkey for us to cook.

"if they bring one i'm taking my ass to my room and won't come downstairs until they leave" she tells me while sitting at the kitchen island on one of the stools, anxiously bobbing her leg up and down.

"bil, i told you the won't do that. they know we both eat plant based in this house" as much as i enjoy eating plant based meals, i still eat meat sometimes. billie on the other hand, doesn't.

"when did they say they'd be here anyway?" she asks and starts chewing her bottom lip. i gently place a vase with flowers on the kitchen island and walk over to her, wrapping my arms around her torso from behind.

"relax" i whisper close to her ear and peck her shoulder "everything's gonna be fine. the food is gonna be delicious. they are gonna think you're incredible and we're all gonna have a wonderful thanksgiving together" i rub her back comfortingly and she instantly sighs deeply and begins to relax against my touch. as much as she tries to mask her emotions sometimes and succeeds, she cannot hide the fact she wishes she had her parents with her today to celebrate around me. she doesn't really remember anything about her life before she winded up in foster care but i know she still cries herself to sleep over a family she doesn't even remember.

"thank you.." she tells me softly, turning around to face me. "for always making me feel included" with that, my heart melts in my chest as she pecks my lips once and then twice until we're full on making out in the kitchen.

"baby.." i breath out kinda heavily against her lips, standing between her legs since she's still sitting on the stool. "go shower, you always take forever"

all i get from her is a 'mhm' as she kisses my lips some more but then i stop her once she squeeze my boobs through the turtleneck sweater i'm wearing.
