Chapter 18

Callies POV

It's been a month since I ran into Aria at the store. Part of me is wanting so bad to reach out and the other part wants nothing to do with her.

Arizona and I actually get to work together today. It doesn't happen very often.

You would think ortho and PEDS would work together a lot but most of the PEDS ortho cases are small broken bones or fractures, so we cast them up and they go and see their primary care doctor.

But this time, unfortunately for the child and his parents, a 14 year old boy was riding a skate board at the local skating park. He missed a jump and when he tried to fix his landing his bone ended up puncturing through his skin. A terrible break.

"Hey, you ready for this?" Arizona smiles, coming into the scrub room

"I am. How about you?" I ask and she chuckles

"I'm always ready Dr.Torres" she says and I shake my head

"Let's go" I chuckle once we had finished scrubbing in

By the time we were in the OR, our patient had already been under the anesthesia

While I am the lead surgeon on this case, Arizona is the second. Really, we don't need to be together on this case, or much of any cases. It's still nice to have someone who actually knows what they are doing rather than someone who just going to slow me down.

"10 blade"

Our surgery took a few hours and it's just now 1 pm

"You did good in there" I smile

"I missed working with you" she smiles and kisses me

"Me too" I tell her and we walk out side of the hospital to the coffee cart

"Have you decided what you wanted to do about Aria?" She ask me and I sigh

"I don't know, what would you do?" I ask

"You know I can't tell you what to do" she sighs

"I'm not asking you to, I'm asking what you would do" I tell her as we continue to walk around

"Well..... if it was me. I would reach out. Maybe do coffee. But that's me," she says and I sigh

"I knew you would say that" I smile and she shrugs

"What can I say? Im one to give second chances" she replies and I smile

"I know, you're too kind for your own good" i say and she laughs

"I'll text her" I say and she smiles

"I knew you would" she replies and we walk back to her office with lunch

It's not reaching 5 and I just got off, Arizona has to stay a little longer to finish the surgery she is in so I am going to go and get paisley  and we are going to sit in my office until she is done

I walked into the daycare and signed her out, I could see her on the floor playing with one of the other kids and I decided on waiting until she noticed me

I watched her a play few minutes until she noticed me

"Mommy!" She exclaims and drops her toys and runs over into my arms

"Hi baby girl" I smile

"Where's momma?" She ask

"She's in surgery. So we are going to go wait for her" I say and she nods
