Callies POV

Today is isabellas birthday. Aria had invited Arizona and I

It's been 2 months since I ran into her at the store and paisley turns 3 in two months, it's crazy how fast time has gone.

While yes, we are planning to go to the party today I was still hesitant about it.

It's not going to just be Aria and the baby, it's going to be our parents, her fiancé and his family. I really just don't want to create any drama, especially with Arizona

"Calliope baby" Arizona says and I sigh

"Look at me" she says and stands in between my legs while holding my hands

"If at any time you want to leave that's fine. I'm sure Aria would understand" she says and I smile

"Thank you.... I just worry" I admit and she nods

"I know. I know, and that's okay." She says and kisses me and we go back to getting ready while paisley played with toys on our bed

We learned our lesson. Never let her out of our sight while she is quiet

"Alright baby girl, let's go get dressed" I say and pick paisley up once Arizona and I had finished getting ready

"I'm going to take everything to the car" Arizona says and I nod

"What do you want to wear?" I ask paisley

"Dress!" She exclaims

"What if we try something else? You'll be playing and you're going to trip on the dress" I say

"What about this?" I ask, holding up a yellow t-shirt with a butterfly in the middle, half the butterfly made out of daisies

"Okay" she tells me and I slip it over her head and help her into a pair of black leggings and a pair of tennis shoes

"Beautiful! You ready to go see Aria and Isa?" I ask and she nods

"Yep!" She says happily and i take her downstairs

"Hey! You guys ready?" Arizona ask us

"Yea... let's go" I smile

We pulled up to arias house not long after, we have been here once with paisley and we met her fiancé.

He is a really nice man from what I could tell, he adored both Aria and Isa.

We got to their house a little before the party started and there was only one extra car in their driveway

"Here goes nothing" I mumble and I get paisley out while Arizona grabs the gift

"I can play with Isa?" Paisley ask excitedly and I chuckle and nod as I knock on the door and Aria opens it a few seconds later

"Hey! Come in" she smiles and we walk into the her house which was decorated for the one year olds birthday

"It looks really good in here" I tell her

"Oh that was all Michael" she chuckles, Michael, her fiancé

"Oh Aria where do you want- Calliope" I hear behind me and turn around to face my mother

"Mama be nice" Aria tells her

"Calliope dear. It's good to see you" my father says, passing my mother and hugging me

"Hi daddy" I smile

"Is this my granddaughter?" He ask motioning to Paisley  and she waves

"Hi!" She giggles

"Hello nieta" he smiles

"¡No puedo creer que la hayas invitado! ¿En qué estabas pensando?" I heard my mom mumble talking to Aria
[I can't believe you invited her! What were you thinking?]

"Ella es mi hermana, tu hija. Su familia es hermosa. Ahora detente" she replies, not knowing I was listening and I smile and Arizona looks at me concerned
[She is my sister; you're daughter. Her family is beautiful. Now stop it]

"Can I hold her?" My dad ask and I nod as he takes paisley from my arms

"You look just like your mama" dad tells her and paisley looks over at us and smiles although what he doesn't know is Arizona is 'momma'

"play with Isa?" She ask and my dad puts her down and she walks over to where Isa was playing on the floor and more people knocked on the door

"Hey.... Is everything okay?" Arizona ask me

"Yea... everything is fine" I tell her and she nods unconvincingly

While people started to show up Arizona and I stayed to ourselves and kept a close eye on paisley who was now playing with some other kids

Arizona's POV

I heard Aria and her mother talking in Spanish earlier and Callies mood had changed since then

We have been here for about an hour and now and everyone was eating, all but Callie. She was just helping paisley eat so she wouldn't make a mess

Once everyone was done Isa sat at on the floor and she opened up some presents. I had held paisley because she was getting a little too curious

"I'm glad you guys made it" aria says coming over to us once isa had finished with her presents

"Mama doesn't think so"'Callie mumbles

"I'm sorry" she says

"It's okay. Thank you for inviting us, she is definitely wore out" Callie says motioning to paisley who was laying her head on my shoulder

"She turns 3 soon, we are doing a little something at the house. We will text you with more details but we would like for you guys to come" I tell Aria and she smiles

"Of course, we'll be there" she smiles and Callies father comes over

"It was good seeing you Mija" he says and Callie smiles

"Dad. This is my wife, Arizona" she says, introducing us formally

"Its nice to meet you sir" I say and hold my hand out and he takes it

"You too, I'm sorry about before, I - I messed up and I wasn't the father you needed" Carlos says

"It's in the past and I would rather not bring it back up. It's not the place" Callie says kindly

"Momma" paisley tiredly whines

"I know bug, we'll go home soon" i tell her

"We should probably head out." Callie says and Aria nods

"Yea I get that. Better to avoid a tired tantrum" she chuckles and we smile and say goodbye to everyone before leaving

By the time we got home paisley was already asleep and I woke her up so she could use the bathroom before taking a nap

"Momma!" She says exclaims and starts rubbing her eyes

"I know, come on" I say and take her to her room and laid her down and she rolled over and pulled the blanket up without a second thought

"Okay then" I chuckle and walk out of her room and I found Callie downstairs with a glass of wine

"It's 1 " I say and she nods

"Mhm" she Hums and pours more wine into her glass and I walk over to her, taking the glass and taking a sip before handing it back to her

"What did your mom say?" I ask and she scoffs

"She got after Aria for inviting me" she says and I frown

"Aria wanted you there. That's all that matters" i remind her and she nods and sits her glass down and puts her hands on my waist

"I love you" she says, sadness in her eyes

"I love you too calliope"
