November 1975

The night passed in a blur. Maybe it was due to the constant overthinking and the processing of every single second of the past night. But Juliet didn't actually realise what has happened until she caught a glimpse of Remus coming down the stairs while she was counting the students assigned to her.

His eyes met with hers almost immediately and he couldn't help but to smile. She grinned back at him shyly, and he couldn't help but notice how effortlessly beautiful she looked.

She wasn't in her uniform, instead, she was wearing a simple sweater and jeans, her red prefect badge laying on her chest, and his brain quietly took notice of how they were actually matching at that moment. But those were his go-to clothes so he refrained himself from teasing her and winking at her.

Instead, he walked forward, greeting her softly, and focusing on their duties. When finally all hundred and five students were gathered and loudly chatting in the common room, they decided it was time to go.

Juliet and Remus didn't have classes that morning, though they did have Alchemy in the afternoon, and Astronomy in the evening. But because they were prefects who were now obliged to escort the younger students out and in the common room, they still had to wake up.

It was normal for them to be trusted with the safety of the students considering how prefects usually tended to be students with impressive academic performance and great sense of responsibility. Remus was part of a group keen on pranking people, but that did not make him any less responsible.

So while they were making their way to the Great Hall, Remus glanced at the brunette, his hands stuck in his pockets, trying to seem relaxed, contrasting with the rhythm of his heartbeats.

"Did you sleep well?"

She looked up at him, a sheepish glint in her eyes, and a small smile on her lips, she said, "I truthfully didn't sleep much."

That statement definitely increased his anxiety. "Why?"

"Spent the entirety of the night, reflecting on everything that happened between us, attempting to come to a specific conclusion."

"And did you arrive at that conclusion?" He bit his bottom lip, dreading her next words.

"No." He inhaled shakily. "I don't think it's something I should do alone. I believe it's something we should get to together."

Remus was confused, but somehow the softness of her words and tone shrugged off all the negative thoughts of his mind. She wouldn't have kissed him if there was nothing going on for her part. Juliet wasn't like that.

And so, they arrived in the Great Hall, walking towards Professor McGonagall to report that all students were present.

"Very good, thank you Ms. Potter and Mr. Lupin." And before they could walk away, she spoke up again. "Do not worry about escorting them to their classes, the Professors came to the agreement of taking care of each of their classes, simply take them back to the Gryffindor Tower by the end of the day."
