Chapter 9 Rescue Mission

Soo-jin and Kiana just arrived at a street in the middle of the night and they received a call from Theresa.

"Kiana. Soo-jin. ME Corp is just up ahead. Ready to break in?" Theresa asked

"Of course. Eh? Why is Theresa leading this mission? Where is Aunt Himeko?" Kiana asked

"I think she's coming with us." Soo-jin said

"I heard that, young lady. I won't let you off that easily if I heard that again." Himeko appeared

"Anyways, ME Corp is a dangerous place, so I'm coming with you two. If you went there all by yourself, you'd be deader than dead." Himeko said

Well, well, well... How the turn tables.

"Himeko, I can't thank you enough." Kiana said

"Me neither." Soo-jin said

Himeko ruffles their hairs and smiles at them.

"Just keep smiling." Himeko said

The two of them grin and Himeko laughs.

"Alright, wipe that disgusting grin off of your faces. I'll settle for a 'thank you.' Gosh." Himeko said

"Enough chit-chat for now. Here's the mission briefing. Our intel confirmed Mei, Bronya and Wendy were captured by Anti-Entropy and are now being imprisoned in ME Corp HQ building. Unfortunately, Schicksal isn't prepared to declare war on Anti-Entropy yet. We shouldn't be put up in this crap anyway!" Theresa said

"Our primary goal is to infiltrate the building and rescue our Valkyries. And do naughty stuff along the way." Theresa added

"Understood!" Kiana and Soo-jin said

"Naughty stuff along the way... Sister Theresaz you sound as if..." Himeko paused

"I knew I had to choose a harder word. Anyway, Major Himeko and I will be joining in this mission. But the HQ building is heavily guarded. Be prepared." Theresa said

"Scout the building perimeters and find a way in, Soo-jin." Theresa said

"Aye." Soo-jin said

Soo-jin heads to the building first while Himeko, Theresa and Kiana wait for him.

Soo-jin arrived at a rooftop and looked around.

"Nothing here. I have a gut there's no easy way in." Soo-jin said

After carefully looking around, Soo-jin found no entrance, so he returned to the three.

"I found nothing. All entrances are well guarded." Soo-jin said

"This is harder than I thought." Theresa said

"Principal, there's something I wanna ask you. The news was talking about Raiden Ryoma, the CEO of ME Corp. Is he Mei's dad? Why would Anti-Entropy imprison Mei in her Dad's company?" Kiana asked

"My parents worked for him before. Raiden Ryoma was accused of some crimes and was sent to jail while someone in Anti-Entropy took over the company." Soo-jin said

"That's right. Raiden Ryoma was framed by Anti-Entropy for economic crimes and was sent to jail." Himeko said

"Schicksal and Anti-Entropy maintained peace while Raiden Ryoma led ME Corp. But Cocolia wrested the dictatorship of ME Corp from him. Cocolia is a radical extremist who'd do anything to undermine us." Theresa said

"I bet Cocolia was behind it all." Himeko said

"Cocolia... I think I've heard this name before." Kiana said

The four continued their scouting around the building, but to their luck, they really found no way in.

"I can't find a way in either..." Theresa said

"We've been sitting nuts outside ME Corp forever! Anti-Entropy will eventually find us snooping around. Let's retreat for now." Himeko said

"No way! I can't give up like this! I'm not heading back! I'll go in alone and rescue Mei!" Kiana said

Soo-jin just facepalms behind Kiana and she looks at him.

"What's wrong?" Kiana asked

"Kiana, being hot-headed won't solve anything." Theresa said

"Calm down, subject Kiana." Bronya said

"Nevermind. If all of you are so adamant about it, count me in and let's do it then." Kiana said

"ME Corp is heavily guarded, but the Bronya can bring you in." Bronya said

"Awesome! We've been trying to do thst for ages!" Kiana said

"Wait, we can't trust Bronya, right? For now, at least." Soo-jin said

"Yeah. Mei was captured because Anti-Entropy was controlling her. Isn't it rather suspicious that she came looking for us now?" Himeko asked

"Trust the Bronya, Major Himeko. Thr Bronya wants Mei rescued." Bronya said

"Himeko. Soo-jin, I don't think Bronya is being controlled right now. I bet Bronya wants to rescue Mei as well." Kiana said

"Last time I trusted someone, we got two members taken away. Even I almost got taken." Soo-jin said

"Soo-jin... is it still about the decision you made?" Kiana asked

"Yeah, because I decided to let you three do what you want with Wendy, Mei and Bronya got taken away. If I hadn't let you do what you want and let Durandal do her job, maybe we wouldn't be out here, planning to invade Anti-Entropy just to save Mei." Soo-jin said

"Never mind that. Let's just get Mei. I'll reflect on my actions later." Soo-jin said

"Thank you, subject Soo-jin for trusting the Bronya again." Bronya said

"Head to access C7 of the building." Bronya said

The four of them head to C7 of the building and when they got near, Kiana started a conversation.

"Something doesn't feel right." Kiana said

"Are you worrried about Bronya? It could be a trap." Himeko said

"So what? I'm in the team. I won't be stopped by no traps! We can just smash through the walls if it's a trap." Theresa said

"Theresa's so hyped today." Kiana said

"I wish I could bottle up her optimism and sell it." Soo-jin let out a small laugh

"She hasn't been doing field work for a while." Himeko said

The four of them continued on their way to the entrance Bronya told them about and they came across to fight mechas as well.

They finally arrive and went to call Bronya.

"Bronya, we're now at the entrance at C7." Himeko said

"Password received: XCVF. Verifying. Gate opened." Bronya said and the entrance was opened

"It's open! Awesome!" Kiana said

"Be careful when you enter." Himeko said as the four of them enter

"The Bronya is sending you the building prints. Mei is held in the labs at Floor 3. The Bronya will be there to open doors." Bronya said

"Hurry. The researchers are getting ready to surgically remove the Herrscher core from Mei." Bronya added

"I'm won't let that happen! Don't worry. Let's head to the labs ASAP!" Kiana said

"Mei, we're coming for you!" Kiana said

"Idiot. It's useless telling her that when she can't even hear you." Soo-jin playfully smacked Kiana's head

"Ow-! Don't smack my head! What if I get dumber?!" Kiana asked

The four of them headed their way to where Mei was located.
