Chapter 17 Arc City II

Soo-jin stood in front of a couple who were arguing. In a blink of an eye, they disappeared and he saw them walking away on different paths.

"Mother... Father... Wait..." Soo-jin stretched his hand out

Someone holds his hand and he saw Himeko holding it.

"She was a mother figure to me. I just couldn't see it." Soo-jin thought as he reminiscence with some of his memories with Himeko

"If cleaning up the floor again after Himeko spilled booze on it means to see her again, I'd gladly do it until I run out of stories to talk about." Soo-jin thought, remembering his last conversation with Himeko

"Soo-jin... Himeko's... gone."

Soo-jin's eyes widen and he fell on a chair with a devastated look on his face. With his head low, I have confirmed he is being a Shinji.

"Soo-jin, if you're spying on me just say it!"

"Kiana, I'm not spying on you. I'm not with Schicksal anymore."

"Soo-jin... if Kiana doesn't want to come back... could you watch over her on our behalf?"

Soo-jin woke up and saw himself reaching out his hand to the ceiling. He stood up and opened the window to see Arc City still being ravaged by Honkai Beasts.

"Kiana... Tsk!" Soo-jin clicked his tongue and immediately put his top clothes on

Soo-jin grabbed his sword and pistol before dashing outside the room and head to where Kiana was. Unknown to Kiana, he put a tracker on her, so he always know where she is.

When Soo-jin finally to where Kiana was, he witnessed her fight Aesir mechas made and sent by Schicksal.

Soo-jin landed behind Kiana and sliced a mecha's arm off.

"S-Soo-jin! What are you doing here?! You should be resting! It hasn't even been three hours since you were buried by a wall." Kiana said

"I've got no time for rest if you aren't there with me." Soo-jin said

"It appears that we have an uninvited guest. Hwang Soo-jin."

Soo-jin looks to the side and saw Rita Rosseweisse while all the mechas stop, but still surrounded both him and Kiana.

"Or should I say, the Herrscher of Extremity." Rita said

"Rita... Rosseweisse." Soo-jin said

"It's a pleasure to have my name remembered by you." Rita giggled

"What are you trying to do?" Soo-jin asked

"I'm just taking K-423 back to Schicksal. I will not do anything to you since you helped fight against the Herrscher of the Void. However, if you fight against us to help the Herrscher of the Void, I'm afraid I might have to take you as well." Rita said

"That won't be possible." Soo-jin said, pulling out his sword from it's sheathe

"Oh, dear. Of all the people I'd fight, I never thought one of them would be a person Master Durandal seems to be interested in." Rita said, spinning her scythe

"Soo-jin, I'll take care of these mechas." Kiana said

"I'll leave it all to you then." Soo-jin said

Soo-jin jumped at Rita, swinging his sword towards her, but she blocked it with her scythe. Soo-jin kicks Rita away from him and charged towards her again.

Rita swung her scythe at Soo-jin and he slides underneath the scythe and Rita. Rita turned around saw him raising his hand towards her.

"I've got the upperhand now." Soo-jin said as one of his eyes turn red

Rita's scythe was pulled towards Soo-jin and he caught it.

"The Herrscher of Extremity's ability to control any blade sure is a handy one. However, you've only managed to control that portion of your power." Rita said

"Yeah, but that alone is enough to even take on an S-Rank Valkyrie." Soo-jin said

I know I said it doesn't work on Divine Keys and Durandal has one. Soo-jin doesn't know yet that it doesn't work on Divine Keys.

Soo-jin threw the scythe and all of the Aesir mechas Kiana was fighting were sliced in half by the scythe before it went back to Soo-jin.

Kiana returned to Soo-jin's side as they stare at Rita.

"Rita, let me ask a question." Kiana said

"What do you think is more important? Catching me or saving the entire city?" Kiana asked

"They are the same thing to me." Rita said

A figure with a scythe appears behind Kiana and before it could swing it's scythe towards her, Soo-jin pulled her and hit the figure with his scythe. I mean, Rita's scythe.

Instead of going back to Soo-jin, Rita's scythe went back to her and she caught it.

"It's not going to be easy to catch me now. Believe what you will, but I'm not the reason why Honkai Beasts are attacking the city. Take this and find out what Heliopolis is up to yourself." Kiana hands something to Rita

"And, I'm not leaving. Stopping the disaster means more to me than escaping." Kiana said

"I know you have no reason to trust me, but the choice is yours anyway." Kiana said, walking past Rita

Soo-jin walked past Rita to follow Kiana until Rita stopped him to say something.

"Master Durandal would be very disappointed." Rita said

"I'm not leaving either. I'm watching over Kiana." Soo-jin said and he continued walking

Soo-jin took out his phone and talked with someone.

"Kiana's doing alright, although she still doesn't want to go back. I'll remain watching over her." Soo-jin said

"Thank you, Soo-jin. As of now, you're the only one Kiana trusts that's with her and the only one who can be on par with the Void." Theresa said

"Yeah, I know that." Soo-jin said
