Chapter 21 Taken Away

Later, Soo-jin and Kiana were making sure they left no trace in their hideout while Rita was still unconscious. But unknown to them, Rita secretly watched them leave the hideout.

They got out of the hideout at night and noticed some lights coming from above. They looked above and saw flying mecha guards. But both still managed to get past the guards with the help of Fu Hua's guidance until they got to Heliopolis.

The two arrive at some part of the park and Fu Hua noticed something.

"Something up ahead." Fu Hua said

They saw a woman with a hood along with a group of mechas and other people.

"These guys are up to something." Kiana said

"I know that." Soo-jin said

"We seem to be just in time, but this seems to be more than just a coincidence." Fu Hua said

"The convoy seems like they're leaving." Kiana said

"Let's go, Kiana. We might need to follow them." Soo-jin said

"Yeah. I think so too." Kiana said

The convoy trucks left and both Kiana and Soo-jin chased after them and jumped on top of one of the trucks.

"I suggest it'll be better if we get far from the park." Soo-jin said

"You're right. Let's start our attack when we get far enough." Kiana said

"Watch out for the caped woman, both of you. She, who defeated Rita easily must be a dangerous person and is well-versed in underhanded tactics." Fu Hua reminded

"I know. Those Valks were incapacitated because of some poison gas they released." Kiana said

"The gas that was used on Immortal Blades must be a Honkai neutralizing one. But this weapon has two obvious weaknesses." Fu Hua said

"First, friendly forces reliant on Honkai energy must stay away or they will be incapacitated as well. Second, gas weapons work best in enclosed spaces." Fu Hua explained

"Oh, right! That woman didn't fight Rita face to face and ambushed her in the lab instead." Kiana said

"But just because one of the weapons don't work well in a certain place, it doesn't mean we should be safe. They could have anything prepared against anyone." Soo-jin said

"That's right. We should isolate her in open space and be prepared for anything that could happen." Fu Hua said

After a while, an explosion occured and all the trucks were flipped. Soo-jin and Kiana landed on the road while mechas and test subject zombies surround them.

They took care of those easily, but Kiana did most of the job, so Soo-jin's stitches might open.

"I guess that's all of them." Kiana said

Soo-jin who was standing behind Kiana felt something coming at them. Soo-jin immediately grabs Kiana and jumped out of the way, to see a truck almost hitting them.

"Thanks, Soo-jin." Kiana said

"Don't mention it." Soo-jin said

"I see your Herrscher bodies are holding quite well, huh?" Raven walked out of the crash, unscathed

"Now, you can't use Honkai energy either. Finally looking to fight us square and fair?" Kiana asked

"For you, there's no such thing as fair." Raven said

Soo-jin noticed something on Raven's neck and it was some kind of syringe.

"For you two... there's no such thing as fair." Raven said, pulling out the syringe

Kiana pulls out her pistols and Soo-jin unsheathes his sword while Raven charged at them. Raven reveals her long, sharp claws. She first went for Kiana, but her claws were blocks by Soo-jin. Soo-jin kicks Raven and she was sent a few meters away from them. Raven's smirk under her hood could be seen by Soo-jin.

"Not bad, not bad. Let's see how long you'll last. The hunt begins now." Raven said

Kiana tried to shoot at Raven, but Raven disappeared and appeared behind Kiana. Raven tried to claw Kiana's back, but Kiana turns, just in time and got her arm clawed instead. Although it wasn't deep, it still hurts.

Kiana points her pistol on Raven's stomach who jumps away. But before Kiana could shoot Raven, she heard as metal blade hitting the ground.

"Heh." Raven smirked

Kiana looks at Soo-jin and saw him holding his arm before kneeling to the ground.

"My arm feels weak..." Soo-jin said before passing out

"Soo-jin-" Kiana paused when a sharp pain hits her body

Kiana felt all of her strength disappear and Raven jumped towards her to try and claw her. Kiana managed to ddoge the first, but she felt herself finally weaken to drop one of her pistols and she got finally got clawed.

"What are you... trying to do... in this city?!" Kiana asked

Kiana passed out on the road.

"I'm not obligated to answer your question." Raven said

"Jackal, it's done." Raven seemed to be talking to someone on her comms

"Haha, just as I expected. Herrschers are not unconquerable, as long as you know the trick. Raven, take them to the lab." Jackal said

"Friendly reminder, put out the fire before it turns into a blaze." Raven said

"No way! Killing them is an outrageous waste! These are Herrschers! Live Herrschers!" Jackal said

"But, you could kill one of them if you want. I only need one after all." Jackal added

"Heh... My pleasure." Raven said

"Leave the Void alive for me. I can't wait to tear her up and start some tests..." Jackal excitedly said

"... You're insane." Raven said

The puppet soldiers carried Kiana's limp body to a truck while they threw Soo-jin off of the elevated highway, into a river, but not without leaving a stab wound on him.

Even before half an hour, Soo-jin woke up like nothing happened.

"Kiana... They took Kiana!" Soo-jin said

"... Luckily... I got one of those things written as antidote... and they had labels for a specific type." Soo-jin smiled, taking something out of his pocket

Soo-jin stabbed the antidote on his neck and he was cured instantly. His strength went back and he heard a giggle from behind.

"I might have found a reason why Master Durandal is interested in you."

Soo-jin looks behind him and saw Rita, holding his sword.

"You... You woke up already, huh?" Soo-jin asked

"Yes. How's the wound on your stomach?" Rita asked

"I'll be alright. More importantly, Kiana's been taken away. I'm going to get her. Whatever you're planning to do, just don't intervene against my plan to get Kiana back." Soo-jin said, walking towards Rita

"Don't worry. I won't. In fact, I'm going to send someone to rescue your Miss Kaslana as payment for saving me." Rita said, handing Soo-jin's sword
