Speed Demon

Dean Winchester-Singer was not a man to shy away from a fight that he believed in, so the next few days of the trip were anxiety-inducing for Sam and Adam.

Sam and John always used to argue when the boys were young, but it seemed like Dean had taken up the job of arguing with the man. It was probably because Dean had grown up a lot and, as a father himself, he couldn't find any of John's old excuses acceptable.

In Dean's mind, there was no reason to treat your kid the way John treated them.

Tensions were high, arguments were commonplace, and hunting for the demon became a daily occurrence.

They had only been gone a week and a half when they suddenly got a visit from the demon who was tired of laying in wait.

It was just after sunset and a loud noise came from John's motel room. At first, the three brothers ignored it and assumed it was just something getting knocked over.

Next thing they heard was a shout, followed by John banging his hand against the shared wall to get their attention.

The three younger hunters quickly got up from their seats and grabbed weapons before rushing to the motel room next door.

Busting open the door, they found John unconscious on the ground, with Azazel standing a few feet away and looking at the three of them with a smug smile.

"Hello, boys." He greeted, his yellow eyes twinkling a bit in joy. "I must say Dean, that little trick you played was awfully clever."

"I thought you might like it." Dean said with a sarcastic smile of his own.

"Oh, I was very impressed." The demon assured before continuing more solemnly. "Unfortunately, I still need that brand."

Without warning, he pounced into a fight with all three of the boys, who desperately tried to keep the demon at bay.

The fight went on for a few minutes, with each of them receiving various blows over the course of it.

Eventually, they had the demon gripped by the arms and tried to move him toward the hidden devil trap closer to the bed, but Yellow Eyes seemed to sense this.

He flung them all against a wall with a blast of power and then began his approach.

However, before he got to them, his back was stabbed and he was dragged to the ground by a now-conscious John.

With the demon distracted, the boys fell to the ground and Dean quickly stood to make his way toward the kitchen while Adam and Sam tried to help John.

Dean flicked on the stove and put the brand on top of the burner. Luckily, the tool was designed to heat up fast and easily so it was glowing red-hot sooner than expected.

He grabbed the handle (which wasn't nearly as hot, but still burned him) and rushed back into the fight as Azazel threw Adam and Sam across the room and pinned John to the floor.

Simultaneously, the man and demon made their move.

Dean ran forward and pressed the branding iron into Yellow Eyes back as hard as he could, making the demon scream as the painful magic coursed into him.

At the same moment, Azazel sunk a knife into John's neck.

The shock seemed to make the world go in slow-motion as the demon rolled off John and away from Dean.

Adam and Sam both lurched up to get to the two men, as Dean was forced to fall on his knees at John's feet after the demon moved so suddenly.

All three boys seemed to be frozen for a moment before Adam was rushing forward to cover the wound with his hands, but blood was already gushing everywhere and creating a puddle on the floor.
