Kaye's POV

Ipiniling ko ang aking ulo nang makita ang isang lalaki na nakatalikod sa'kin. Nakapamulsa siya habang nakatayo sa platform ng Academy.

Yumuko ako at napangiti. 'I'm dreaming, aren't I?'

'Kaye.'

Inangat ko ang aking tingin kay Slade. 

'Hi,' he greeted and smiled.

My eyes brightened, and before I knew it, I found myself walking towards him. I didn't stop to greet him back, instead, I pulled him to an embrace.

Nang bitawan ko siya ay tumingala ako sa kanya nang nakasuot ng ngiti na mas lumapad pagkatapos siyang yumuko at tumapat sa tiyan ko.

'Henri,' sambit niya rito. 'My son, you're destined to be great...'

Unti-unting nabura ang aking ngiti.

Sinalubong ni Slade ang aking tingin bago tumayo. 'Kaye-'

'Why did you do this, Slade?' tanong ko. 'Why are you leaving a child?'

He just stared at me as an answer, dahilan na matawa ako nang mahina. 'You have bigger plans, don't you?' Sunod-sunod ang aking mga katanungan. 'Why else would you leave a child, when you don't have to? Ginamit mo lang ba ako-'

'I didn't mean to hurt you,' aniya. 'Kaye, I-'

Namamasa ang aking mga mata nang ngitian siya. 'You're destiny for gods' sake-' My voice broke. 'You know everything.'

Napalunok siya at akmang lalapitan ako nang mapaatras ako.

He looked to the side, as if he was ashamed. 

Kumunot ang aking noo pagkatapos magsimulang tumulo ang aking mga luha. 'What have you done?'

Taking a deep breath, he turned to face me again. 'This...' sabi niya. 'This is the consequence.'

'A consequence that you could have stopped-'

'No,' he insisted. 'I could not stop myself.'

'I gave myself a weakness,' dagdag pa niya. '-and she's right in front of me.'

'I know everything but I cannot do everything.' Napalunok siya. 'I am not in control of myself, anymore, and that's because of what I did for you and the others.'

Umiwas ako ng tingin.

'But I do not regret what I have done.'

I blinked the tears from my eyes.

'I will never regret loving you.'

Pinunasan ko ang aking magkabilang pisngi.

'You belong to me, Kaye.'

Napatuon ako sa kanya nang sabihin niya 'yon.

'I cannot continue without you by my side.'

My breathing deepened as I looked at him, confused and amazed at the same time, of how a god as powerful as him falls weak against love.

'Be my wife,' he pleaded. 'Live among the stars with me...'

Bahagyang bumukas ang aking bibig, hindi makapaniwala. 'May anak ako, Slade, may anak tayo.'

'Then let's watch him grow.' Namuo ang isang mapait na ngiti sa kanyang labi. 'Let him pave his own way, because his destiny, Kaye, is beautiful.'
