Considering that we had slept in the same bed and had kissed before, it was funny that it was only our first time holding hands. I didn't usually hold hands with my previous girlfriends but with Chloe it felt nice. Her hand was warm and soft, sending tingles up my arm. Her hand was also small and little in mine which I thought was cute.
The air was perfect in the park. Breezy and warm, making the trees rustle and the sun seem brighter. What made it better was having Chloe with me.
When I'm around her, it's not like I get nervous. But in a way I guess I do. I just don't show it. My stomach squeezes tight and I start sweating. Sometimes I'm at a loss for words, but the more dates we go on the easier it is and the less nervous I get. It feels like we've known each forever, even though it's been only a week or two since we've met.
Sitting on the park bench together I thread a arm around her waist.
"I love you." She said casually then laid her head on my shoulder.
"What?" I looked down at her with wide eyes.
"What do you mean, what?"
"Does you realize what you just said?"
She stayed silent for a second, replaying over what just happened then her own eyes widened. Chloe lifted her head off my shoulder, looked at me then grasped my shoulder.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to say that. I mean I'm being silly. We b-" Chloe started to say quickly but I cut her off with a laugh.
Her eyes filled with confusion but I leaned over, kissing her lightly.
"It's fine." I said, our lips still touching. She blushed a little then looked down. I love making her blush, it's so cute.
So she loved me? Warmness seemed to fill me and I felt suddenly happier than ever. I wanted to tell her that I loved her back. But I couldn't do that. Even though I liked her so much and we held such a strong connection, we'd only known each other about two weeks. Besides, I don't think I am.
