It was time to embark on the three day journey towards the Leaf village. You gripped the backpacks straps, feeling your nerves over following you. It was a simple request but, the thought of leaving the village for an extended time felt off.  But, maybe it would be alright, you thought while kicking a pebble across the street.

"Y/n!" an out of breath voice shouted making you turn around.

"Nobu? What's wrong?"

"I wanted to catch you before you left. Plus, I thought you could use a morning snack for your journey ahead." Nobu let out a small chuckle that made you smile.

"Hmm, sure. Or was it because you wanted to get some sweet buns before they sold out?"

"Hmm, I wonder."

You grabbed the sweet bun from his hands and took a bite of it.  The rich scent wafted into your nostrils making your stomach growl.

"Pretty good huh?" Nobu said and you rolled your eyes jokingly.

"No. it's disgusting."

Nobu shook his head from your sarcastic remark. Now realizing that it wasn't the village you would be missing. It was him, the way he always made you feel 'normal'.  You furrow your eyebrows together at this thought.

"You'll be fine."

"I know. I guess this is where I depart."

You almost hoped Nobu would give you a reason to go against the Mizukage's orders just to stay. But, that wouldn't happen. Knowing deep down this was good for you and Nobu always pushed you to move forward.

"Yes, I guess it is. I'll see you when you return (nickname)."

With that Nobu waved goodbye and walked back toward town. This made your heart hurt, knowing how easy it was for him to say goodbye. I guess that's what unrequited love feels like.

The days go by faster than normal and you arrive at the Leaf village in record speed. You pear past the large green double gates and see a large mountain decorated with kage faces. It almost seemed ridiculous that they idolized their leaders so much to permanently engrave their image in rock. Of course back at the Mist village, we respect our past leaders because they are who made the village what it is today.

Now entering into the village you walk over toward the welcome desk. The two males pick up their heads in alarm. They must have awoken from a deep slumber. Does the leaf not take pride in security? It was so lax here that anyone could attack with ease.

"Who are you?"

One asked and you bent forward to politely greet yourself. But, on the inside you laughed at how childish they sounded. Wouldn't the Hokage send word to greet you at the gates?

"My name is Y/n, Ln. I am a mist ninja sent here by Hokage-sama. I assume it's alright to move forward?"

You gazed down at the two bozos who scratched their heads in confusion. You tried your hardest to stay composed. You were representing the Mist village and you wouldn't let anything disgrace it.

"R-right, go on ahead Fifth Hokage-sama is waiting for your arrival."

You nodded and gave a questionable look. There is no way they would let a foreign nin waltz around with free range. As you walked away from the stand you heard voices arguing.

"Naruto, calm down. Don't make a scene and Sasuke quite antagonizing him." (?) voice said making you turn to face the group.

There stood three young pre-teens, the tallest had dark hair and wore the Uchiha crest on his shirt. The other two, one was a girl with pink hair who gravitated toward the Uchiha and the other seemed to be a short-tempered kid. You trail your eyes to their Jonin leader. He bore a look of annoyance and his face was practically covered. What intrigued you the most was how his headband covered his left eye.

You could only assume at that point he was Kakashi of the Sharingan. You had heard stories about him on missions. He was an assassin that killed his opponents with a bolt of lightening. You would always hear him coming from the chirping noise echoing through. You were lucky enough to even hear or lay eyes upon it.

"Hey! Kakashi-sensei! That lady is staring at you!"

You are pulled out of your thoughts by the kid screaming. You quickly turn your head and move toward the Hokage's mansion.

"See Naruto! You scared her off!"

You couldn't help but, feel embarrassed. How could you let this happen? Getting caught red-handed by your target is the worst thing that could happen to a ninja. You pause and look behind you noticing that Kakashi caught up with you.

"Sorry to interrupt." Kakashi replied and began walking with you.  You scanned his features from the corner of your left eye. Watching him causally flip through his orange hardcover book. It was obvious he was testing you or was it more curiosity?

"What." You asked making Kakashi slam his book shut.

"I should be asking you that question. I couldn't help but notice your headband. You are from this Mist village, correct?"

Kakashi turned and waited for a response. Knowing damn well where I was from. You let out a grunt and faced forward.

"Oh, not much of a talker I see."  Kakashi teased making you roll your eyes.

You didn't want to play his weird game. You wanted to continue on in peace and get as far away from Friend Killer Kakashi.

"Well, that doesn't matter. All you have to do is listen and I'll let you go on your merry way. I just find it weird that a mist ninja gets sent here after the death of Zabuza Momochi. If I may be frank, if it's revenge you are after then-"

"Oh, revenge? Is that what you think? Wow, given your S-rank, I thought you would keep more information in that thick head of yours. But, it seems we are both wrong. Now then, I will be going to meet with your kage. Why don't you run along to your students. I'm sure their waiting to hear about your encounter with me."

You smirked and walked off. As you look over your shoulder you see the masked nin standing their wide eyed. Don't ever assume things about me again Hatake.
