Game Changer

After school there was a College fair and Sophie was there 

"New brochure?" Sophie asked

"Yes" A girl said anding it to her

"What are you doing here?" Paris asked Sophie 

"There's a College fair going on" Sophie said

"I mean, what are you doing here"

"I'm getting a new brochure"

"Why?"

"Because, they're not selling pizza"

"You can't" Paris said

"You're applying to Harvard?" Sophie asked 

"Yes"

"Ten generations of Gellers have gone to Haravard. I have to go to Harvard"

"You can go somewhere else"

"Don't worry, I'm going to Yale"

"Harvard is just my second option"

"Good"

"Good" Sophie said and then started to leave

"Hey" Paris called

"Are you dating Tristan?" She asked

"What? No, no way"

"Do you like him?"

"Not even a little"

"Really?"

"Really"

"Okay" Paris said making a small smile and then Sophie left and went home

"Today Sam Riley kicked a soccer ball, and it hit another kid so hard his eye popped out. It was awesome" Luke said

"Hey, I'm home"

"Hey, sweetie" Both Phil and Claire greeted her

"Really?" Alex asked Luke

"His eye popped out" Luke said

"Never mind" Alex said

"Well, gotta hit the sack. Big Saturday tomorrow" Phil said

"That's right. It's somebody's birthday" Claire said

"Not just that. The iPad comes out- on my actual birthday.It's like Steve Jobs and Go got together to say, "We love you, Phil"

"What is so great about that doohickey anyhow?" Claire asked

""Doohickey," Elly May? It's a movie theater, a library and a music store all rolled into one awesome pad"

"A library is a place where people get books" Alex teased Haley

"A movie theater is a place where people go on dates" Haley teased back

"I better load the beach chair into the trunk. I'm gonna need it for the line in the morning" Phil said

"Wait,Dad,you're going to spend your birthday in line?" Sophie asked

"Honey, Sophie's right,you can't spend your birthday in line"

"Well, not the whole day. I have to be there at 6:00, or forget about it. Then I'm out by 10:00"

"Why don't you let me do it?"

"Claire, you don't have to do that"

"No, I know, but I want to. And that way on your birthday you'll wake up and you'll have your brand-new toy"
