Sophie, Phil, Haley, Alex and Lily were in the car. Lily's doll was broken an they were taking it to the dolls doctors and then Phil was taking the girls to the mall.
"I never really got dolls. Does that make me weird?" Alex asked
"You've got worse" Sophie commented from the passenger seat not looking up from her phone
"But it's still on the list" Haley told her
"You're not weird" Phil told Alex
"You just kind of skipped the little girl stage. And jumped to the "I dare you to ring her doorbell" stage" Haley told her
"The only stage you're ever going to jump on has a pole on it" Alex told her
"Hey, at least I have the body--"
"Okay! Okay! We're gonna have to settle this dispute in court-- the food court. The honorable Judge Cinnabon presiding" Phil said
"The food court? That place smells like the inside of Luke's bicycle helmet" Haley commented
"Worse" Sophie said still not looking up
"I like the food court"
"Me, too" Alex and Lily said
"Don't worry, girls. We're not gonna deprive ourselves just 'cause of Sophie and Haley's aversions to food-" Phil said but Alex interrupted him laughing and Haley and Sophie looked at each others worried
"Oh. Oh, Sophie and Haley's "aversions" I thought you said... Never mind" Alex stopped laughing and Phil just looked to the road with a shocked face
Later, they arrived at the dolls shop
"What's wrong with you?" Sophie asked whispering to Alex
"What were you thinking saying that in front of him?" Haley tasked
"I'm sorry. It slipped out. Besides, I figured he knew"
"Mom knows. Only because she dragged it out of Dylan and Harry" Haley told her
"And she promised not to tell dad until we left for college" Sophie explained
"Which means he might have never found out for me" Haley said
"Stop panicking. We don't even know for sure he heard what I said" Alex told them
"Okay. Beatrice is with the nurse. They'll call us. Shouldn't be too long. We can just wait until she's married.
Until she's... ready. Which, apparently, everyone is these days. Funny, I used to think it'd be years until everyone was ready, but I guess I was wrong.
Wrong and naive" Phil told them
"I think he heard you" Sophie wishpered sarcastically to Alex
Later
Haley, Sophie and Phil were talking to the "doctor"
"So I've completed the examination, she did really well" He told them
"What's the prognosis?" Phil asked
"We can fix most of her arm, but she'll never regain full mobility in her shoulder joint, because they don't make that part anymore" The doctor explained
"Well, that's pretty good, right?"Haley asked
"Yeah, definitely, Imean, she'll look exactly the same" Sophie continued
"No one will know" Haley said
"I'll know. I'm just saying I liked her the way she was. She was such a sweet little doll. I'm sorry, doctor. I'm having trouble adjusting to all this" Phil said
"Uh, dad, she's still a sweet little doll" Sophie told him
"No, she's broken"
"No, she's just changed a little. It happens. Dolls grow up" Haley said
"Well, actually--" The doctor tried to say something but Haley interrupted him
"Uh, could you..."
"Yeah. Sure. I actually have to go give a little girl some pretty bad news"
"So, Sophie, Haley...The thing is..." Phil started saying
Interview
"Fact--Haley and Sophie are almost 18. Fact-- I am the cool dad. Girls, I understand that sex is a part of life.
I can't say that I'm thrilled to hear this, but I'm sure you're both being safe, and I hope that you'll feel free to talk to me about this anytime" Phil said
End Interview
"We should...We should probably get Beatrice, like, a-a cast or something, and we can all sign it. Yeah?" Phil asked them
"Uh, yeah. Sure"
"Definitely" Haley and Sophie said
Interview
"Fact-- I blew it" Phil said
End Interview
"This repair's probably gonna take a little while. Why don't you girls run up to the food court and grab us a table? I'll get Alex and Lily" Phil told them
"Okay" Haley told him
"Do you want the counter or a booth?" Sophie asked him
"Whatever seems right to you. I trust both of you" Phil said
Interview
"We have a cool dad" Haley said smiling
"The best" Sophie added
Later
"Come on, Lily. Let's see if Beatrice is ready" Haley said
"Oh, she looks beautiful" Sophie told Lily while holding her hand

"We'll see you guys later" Sophie and Haley said
"I'm going at Mary's"
"And I'm going to Abby's" Sophie and Haley said
"Bye, girls. Have fun" Claire said
"Have fun, you! With Abby and Mary!" Phil yelled after them
"We've confirmed Maty and Abby are real people and females?" Phil asked Claire once Sophie and Haley left
"Phil, Mary is Sophie's bestfriend since they were 6"
"Oh, right. I like Mary. What about Abby?"
"Yes, sweetie. We met her too. Honey, we can't treat Sophie and Haley differently just because we both know what we know about them" Claire told him
"I know. I just need time"
"So Dylan and Harry told you? Why didn't they tell me? Them and I used to share everything" Phil told her
"You're upset about a lot of things" Claire said
"Okay, I won't obsess over it. I just wanna ask you one thing. How long have you known?"
"Three months"
"So this giant thing happened to our first borns, and you kept me in the dark about it for three whole months?" Phil asked shocked
"I'm sorry. I just wasn't sure how you'd-Okay" Claire said as Phil hugged her
"Thank you" He said still hugging her
