You Can't Run Forever

I saw the sign WELCOME TO PENNSYLVANIA and I don't know why but I got butterflies in my stomach. I turned to look at Zaire who was all into his movie.

"Hey Zi call your dad and tell him that we are about twenty minutes way." I said

He pulled out his cell and called him. I heard his side of the conversation but that was it. Then i saw him hang up.

"What did he say?" I asked

"He said he's on his way from getting my sister and that he will meet us at his house."

I press the phone button in my truck and scroll down to the person who still holds the title mother in law. I press and wait for her to answer.

"Hello" she says

"Hi Ms. Janice how are you?" I asked

"Oh my goodness. Hi Addi how are you hunny?" she asks excitedly

I smile at the nickname that Sin gave me when we first met.

"I'm fine." I replied

"That's good. Whats that noise in the background?"

"Oh that's Zaire watching a maovie."

"Hi Zaire."

"Hi" he yells back

"Well I just called to let you know that i would b in town this weekend."

"Oh what a surprise and you bought the kids too." she asked 

"Um well no just Zaire he's spending the weekend with his dad since they have a holiday monday Brandon and Essence are with Jason."

"Oh ok well I will be here. You know where I am."

"Yes ma'am I do and you know I will be by."

"Ok then you be safe."

"I sure will. I will talk to you soon."

we hang up with each other and I smile. I didn't even ask about Sincere. I heard he got a job and his own place. Honestly I was proud of him for not going back to the streets. I pulled up to Zaire's father house and saw him pull up along side of me. He parks and him and his daughter hop out. Zaire hops out the truck and run to his dad. I get out and start un loading his stuff.

"Hey Rae." chris says

"Hey Chris whats up?"

"Not much same shit different day.How bout yourself." he asked while taking Zaire's things

"I'm good." I reply

I turn and see Zaire heading into the house with his sister.

"Um excuse me can I get some love before you leave." I asked insulted

"Sorry mom love you." He says as he walks over to hug me

"Do I need to give you love too." chris asks

"Um hell no ." I laugh 

"You sure five years is a long time without any." he joked

"Yea yea whatever. You take care of my boy."

"I will. Have you seen him yet?"

"No and I'm not ready to."

"Well you know how small this area is so your bound to run into him soon."

"Yea well I deal with it then." I reply as I start the truck up

"Ok well have fun and tell Ashley I said what's up.?"

"Ok I will"

"Bye mom" Zaire yells

I wave and pull off. I pull my call list up again and call Ashley.

"Hey girl are you here yet?" she answers

"Yea I'm going to check in at the hotel and then head there."

"I don't know why you always staying at a hotel." she said 

"Because you have two kids two dogs and a man.Where would I rest peacefully at?" I asked

"Well since you put it that way." she laughs

"Well I'm pulling up now.So i will see you in a few." 

"Okay" she replies then hangs up
