Everyone present at the scene had fallen into silence. Lu Meng knew it wasn’t the time to start blaming the guards, he looked towards Li Ze.
“Then, Major General Li, give the orders.” This was the extent of their rapport, and implied that the main commander for this mission would be Li Ze.
Li Ze was thorough and methodical in issuing each and every command, but when he got to the last one, he still hesitated.
Lu Meng hadn’t said anything, merely watching him with a smile. Li Ze closed his eyes; No matter how averse he was to Lu Meng entering the Deep Sea District, right now, they were soldiers with a duty to protect ordinary civilians. So, he only allowed himself to speak one sentence born from his own selfishness—— “Major General Lu, safety comes first. A zero-casualty rate must be ensured.”
