JJ awoke first the next morning feeling a pair of strong arms wrapped around her and a gentle breathing on the back of her neck. Suddenly all of last nights events came flooding back to her and she couldn't stop the smile that formed on her lips. This man really loved her back. And keeping his promise he remained right beside her all night, keeping her tight in his embrace.

It was the safest and most content she had ever felt. Her entire life had been a roller coaster of emotions, but as long as she had her best friend by her side she knew she'd be okay.

JJ shuffled a bit to try and check the time but when she did Brian stirred behind her and constricted his grip around her.

"I really hope you're not trying to sneak out on me." He mumbled in a low scratchy tone that sent a shiver down her spine.

Flipping over in his grasp JJ came face to face with the man, watching his eyes lazily flutter open. She instantly smiled as she admired all of his rugged handsomeness.

"And why would I be doing that?" She smirked, shuffling the slightest bit closer to him.

"Honestly? I have no idea." He teased as he mirrored her smile. "Because I thought last night was pretty amazing." His voice shifting to a much softer tone.

"It was perfect." She corrected.

Brian grinned brightly at the woman before him and watched a light rose color highlight her cheeks the longer he studied her. He brought his fingertips up to her face tucking a piece of blonde hair behind her ear to get a better view of her eyes. Warmth filled his heart as he got lost in the depths of ocean blue within her orbs. The different tints and shades pulled him in like a dangerous riptide of the sea. A riptide he would gladly be whisked away by over and over again.

He placed his hand on her cheek, pulling her face to his and gently connecting their lips for a sweet kiss. JJ didn't hesitate to kiss him back, smiling to herself when she felt their noses brush against one another's. The second he felt her smile press against his lips he couldn't help himself and smirked with her. She made him so unbelievably happy.

"Can I ask you a question?" He asked once their lips parted.

"Always." She answered.

"Does this mean I finally get to call you my girlfriend?" He questioned genuinely his soft eyes looking into hers.

"Yes. I'm all yours, babe." JJ smiled brightly trying to contain the overwhelming excitement she felt inside.

"Mmm...call me babe again." He mumbled burying his face into her neck and planting kisses up and down.

"Babe..." JJ giggled, soothingly running her fingers through his hair. "I'm cold." She pouted, finishing her sentence.

Brian backed away from her neck and laid on his back, pulling her into his chest.

"I can fix that." He declared pulling the covers up around her shoulders before wrapping his arms around her once again. He felt her body relax against him and lowered his head to press a kiss to the top of her head. "I have one more question." He said after a minute of silence.

JJ lifted her head and rested her chin on his chest, giving him her full attention.

"What is it?"

"Are we still best friends?" He asked sincerely.

"Obviously." She chuckled lifting her chin up to get closer to his lips.

He met her halfway and closed his eyes as they kissed. It was short but sweet and once they separated JJ laid her head back down on his chest, draping her arm over his waist.
