"Jisung, just take English with me." Hyunjin tried to convince him for what felt like the millionth time but Jisung refused.

"I don't want to learn English. I already went through that once and I barely remember any of it."

"But it would end up being the most useful out of all of the language options we have." Hyunjin pouted, holding onto his friends arm. "Please?"

"I don't want to though."

"You have to choose one to graduate...at least I would be able to help you with English"

"I'm just going to leave it blank and accept whatever choice my guidance counselor puts me in," Jisung concluded and Hyunjin rolled his eyes at him.

"I'm going to laugh if you get put in an English and it's not the same class as me because you refuse to choose it."

"I guess we'll see."

And that is how Jisung ended up in Sign language class a couple of months later.

It wasn't that the class was necessarily hard, he knew he could easily pass with a 100% if he actually paid attention. However, as simple as that seemed, he found it quite impossible.

Why?... Maybe because the only thing he could focus on was the pretty boy who sat in the front of the class.

It wasn't like the boy was intentionally trying to be distracting, he wasn't distracting the class every two seconds by loudly speaking like Jisung usually would yet he still couldn't help but stare at him.

The boy sat in the front of the classroom while most other students, including Jisung, sat closer to the back.

The pretty boy sat right in front of the teacher's desk and had conversations with her in sign language as if he were already fluent.

Jisung knew he should have been looking at the teacher and learning the signs but he always had his eyes on the boy in front who, although didn't even seem like he needed to, was giving the teacher his full attention.

He had been in the class for a few weeks at this point and he had an F. He couldn't sign a singular thing if he were asked to. The teacher assumed he would get back on track within the first couple of weeks but that didn't seem to be happening.

Suddenly the bell rang, bringing him away from his thoughts and finally making him look away from the pretty boy.

"Han Jisung, can I please have a word with you?" She asked, making Jisung freeze as he was about to leave.

"What did I do this time?" Jisung mumbled with a sigh as he walked closer to the teacher's desk, glancing at the pretty boy who was still sitting at his desk, now on his phone.

Their lunch period was next but he didn't seem like he was going anywhere at all.

The teacher turned and signed something to him and in response, the boy signed something quickly and then grabbed his bag to leave.

"I couldn't help but notice that you don't pay too much attention in my class...and you also failed your first test."

"I'm sorry." He replied, not capable of coming up with a good excuse and he definitely didn't want to tell the truth.
