"How is it impossible for a lawyer like you to find loopholes . When i haven't done anything , you'll for sure be able to find something " He had screamed frustrated at the last lawyer he knew could be of help while driving back to his home
"Fine, is there anybody else who can take up this case?"
"None that i know of sir "
Now few hours later here he was in her cabin to ask for her help . He had barged in with omi while she was in between some work and had asked them to wait . She was still on her laptop and he was growing frustrated with each second
"Are we silently going to sit here silently looking at miss prakash stare at her laptop or are you going to start with my case?"his patience had worn out
She gave him a side eye and continued working . This grew the anger inside him more . He went and and shut the laptop screen loudly . She gave him a murderous glare.
"Hello , i am talking to you . Did you forget we are sitting here?"
"What the fuck ! How dare you ? " Her face was red with anger . She got up and stood infront of him .
"Didn't i tell you to watch your tone with me . Who said i am going to take your case now? " The guts of this man to assume she would take orders from him
"What? Why would you make us wait for so long then ? Have you lost your mind ? " He screamed . She definitely has gone mad
"Weren't you the one telling me you don't need help few hours back . what happened ? My best of luck didn't work or what ? " She mocked as she crossed her arms .
"And now i want you to take my case" He averted his gaze from her
"Are you asking me or ordering me ? And where's the please? " She raised her eyebrows
Such a sadist ! She was totally enjoying his misery
Karan looked at omi to do something but omi also gestured him to request her .
"why are you looking at him ? woh thodi na sorry bolega ? it was you arrested or him? " She added . She knew she was testing his patience right now
Karan went to sit back on the couch and shut his eyes tightly while omi and teja stared at him with amused smiles .
After a few minutes he walked up and stood infront of her table , put his hands on it and leaned a bit
"Fine . Let's do this. Ms Tejasswi Prakash can you pl" He took a deep breathe and continued "Can you please be my lawyer? " and looked directly into her eyes with sincerity reflecting in his own
Teja for a moment was surprised looking at the sincerity in his eyes and nodded not breaking the eye contact.

"So , let's start with why were you there at Hotel Taj?" Teja was in her work mode now . Sitting with a notepad and pen in her hands .
Karan stared blankly at her for a minute and then turned to Omi "Omi enlighten me if lawyers ask such dumb questions to their clients when the answers are obvious enough !"
Was she really not aware or was trying to play smart ,he couldn't understand .
Omi chose to keep himself busy in pr activities and control the damage that the news of karan going to jail had created . Teja rolled her eyes at his indirect taunt .
"Brave of you to assume that i keep my tabs on you getting spotted Mr Kundrra" She did though but he didn't need to know that .
Karan gave her an annoyed look ."Well since lawyer Madam Tejasswi doesn't invest her time in watching any news channel , let me update you that i was there at the hotel with my team for the wrap up party of my upcoming show" He said emphasising on the words news channel so that Teja knows this was another taunt . Who was she kidding to , He obviously remembers how the only channels that are played on her television kept in office are the news ones.
"I hope you are aware that Rashmi was my co-actress in this series " He added.
Teja gave him a fake smile "Ofcourse , I am aware "
"What was your relation with rashmi " She asked him . Didn't he just tell her she was his costar ? Why the fuck was she asking him this .
"Let me rephrase , What was your relation with rashmi on personal level "
She rephrased her question when she saw his expressions .
"We spent 3 months together shooting for the series so yeah we bonded quite well . Nothing else . " He answered crisply
She put the pen on table ,Slowly she kept her elbows on table and joined her palms . "You don't have to lie Karan . Remember I am your lawyer . I need each and every detail "
"She was a good friend. That's it . There's nothing else to share . " He was done with her ordering him around
"Okay ,let's accept that . When did you first meet her ? " She said leaning back on her chair while rotating pen in her hands .
"The first screen test . We just had said greeted each other then because of tight schedule But properly i guess we met in the meeting ." He answered
"So you guys did not interact with each other before that . I mean, you both were in the same industry for years so how come you met her first time only due to this series " She curiously asked . She obviously knew he was lying .He was not ready to tell her the truth so she had to get the truth out her way.
He sighed frustratingly " No . We did not know or met each other earlier . We might have been to same award shows or parties but we never interacted " Was it so difficult for her to understand that !
"So you are saying that she wasn't your dad's business partner's daughter and you did not meet her during all those meetings both of your dads had "She raise ger eyebrows
Karan looked at her, shock clearly visible on his face. How the fuck did
she know this !
"How did- "
" I have done my research well . I am not just a lawyer who ask dumb questions after all " She smirked and gave it back for his previous taunt
Karan looked at Omi , his expression clearly asking Omi if he had shared this information with her While Omi looked back completely oblivious of the situation .
"He hasn't told me anything so no need to look at him . Now, you can explain the relation part later , you are clearly uncomfortable. Tell me about what happened the night of wrap up party . And mind you i need each and every detail " She knew he wasn't comfortable sharing this with her yet because obviously it was her!
"I don't remember' He shrugged
"Huh? " Teja looked at him incredulously
"That's the whole point . I was too drunk . You know how i forget everything when i am drunk .The last i thing i remember is dancing and then going to my hotel room " He explained feeling helpless and guilty of not being able to provide any information
Teja sighed, clearly irritated and stood up . "Congratulations! We have not even a single information to start with and a thousand of proofs indicating you guilty "
"Okay tell me about everything before you got drunk . Like the people around , i am sure there were paps and if it was exclusively your team or was there general public as well ? " she asked after a few minutes of awkward silence
"When we reached the hotel , there were no paps. Only the team . Yes the hotel was actually a bit crowded but the hall we had booked was exclusively for us only. I remember paps had come after about half an hour so we had all gone to pose for them " He told remembering the incidents of last night
" Wait , you said all had gone to pose for paps, but there was only you and rashmi in the clips ? She asked confusingly
"i didn't assume . You did keep tabs on me ! " He grinned at her . He had caught her lie and he was absolutely overjoyed at having the upperhand finally .
"I had to research afterall i wasn't going to get truthful answers from the Karan Kundrra" She countered . She obviously wasn't going to let the fact go that he lied .
His smile faded once he realised he was never going to win an argument with her . This woman was too damn sharp !
