-Chapter 16-

"Irene."

A soothing whisper.

A voice that full of warmness that hastily calm the unnerving tension that keeps growing within me that i didn't even notice that exist.

It was too soothing to ignore..

Who was it?

"Irene."

Again.

How can this person's voice calm me down in ease.

Just... who is the one that keep calling me?

"...B..Brother?"

Another voice was added.

A voice filled with pure confusion.

At mukhang ang pangalawang boses ay nagmula sa batang babae

Immediately. The voices erks me to open my eyes.

As I opened my eyes.

I found myself inside of the familiar europian style bedroom.

My bedroom back in the princess mansion.

Gabi na ngunit malinaw na malinaw kong natatanaw ang kabuoan ng kwarto.

"..Brother.....is.... here?"

Mabilis akong napalingun sa direksiyon ng nagsalita. It came from the direction of my bed.

As soon as my gaze landed at the bed.

Agad akong natigilan at mabilis na alarma.

Dahil hindi lang ako ang tao ngayun sa loob ng kwarto.

Mariin kong tinitigan ang taong balot ang buong katawan ng kulay itim na robe at natatakpan ang ulo niya ng itim na hood.

Ibinaling ko din ang atensiyon ko sa batang babaeng nakahiga ngayun sa kama.

Unang tingin ko pa lang ay agad ko ng nakilala ang batang babae.

It was Irene...

She looks so young that I barely recognized her.

Seeing the scene in front of my eyes.

It seems like I was dreaming right now..

"Irene is happy. Brother is here. Brother visit Irene. Irene is happy in her dreams!!"

I flinched after hearing the words that left her lips.

Bakas talaga sa boses niya ang sobrang saya.  It also full of hopes, something that surprisingly stungs my heart.

Hinay hinay akong lumapit habang ibinalik ang tingin at atensiyon sa taong nakatayo ngayun sa gilid ng kama, holding little Irene's hand.

Naalala ko na tinatawag siyang brother ni Irene...

At kung tama ang hinala ko..

Irene...No, my brother was Abel alone.

And this guy might be Abel.

"Sleep now, Irene. Brother will promised to stay by your side.."

Napatigil ako sa paglalakad. Nanlalaking mga matang napatitig ako rito.

Did i hear it wrong?

That voice...

It was too similar to the voice that i first heard. The voice that like a sun, radiating its warmness along with the different emotions on it.

The voice that calmed me down.

Desperate. Mabilis akong naglakad papunta sa lalaking nakarobe.

Seeing he didn't notice my presence.

Na-realize ko agad ang kasalukuyan kong sitwasyon.

I am inside of my own dream... or maybe not

I wouldn't dream of something like this.

Maybe.. I am inside of Irene's memory...

"No. Brother is not there if Irene open her eyes."

malungkot na sabi ng batang Irene

I look at her sadly.

Then looked at the young Abel.

Ngayun na nasa tabi ko siya. Kitang kita ang kabuoan ng itsura niya.

No doubt. Its definitely Abel.

But the expression he is currently wearing made me doubt again.

Unlike the Abel I first met, This young Abel is like an open book. I can see his emotions clearly just seeing his face.

And right now. He somewhat looks like in total dilemma yet forcing himself to smile

Just what am i seeing right now...

"......I'm sorry, Irene! I'm so sorry"

"No! Brother is not at fault! Please don't be sad! Irene is a good girl! Irene will sleep now! So brother will be happy!"

Tinignan ko si Abel upang makita lang ang magiging reaksiyon nito.

His eyes was shadowed. And he is biting lips while trembling. He looks like he was about to cry.

My heart throb painfully at the sight of him

A tear slide down to his cheeks that made me freeze up.

He's crying and he's holding his sobs as to not make any noise dahil nakatulog na ulit ang batang Irene.

I frowned.

I was about to reach my hand to him since I feel like comforting him.

But the words that left his mouth made me frozen in place. Heart thumping in rapid beat.

"..I'm sorry... I'm sorry if what I am doing is always keep hurting you..... but..Please don't hate me too much... I'll protect you! I'll definitely will so.. please... please.... don't leave me..."

Pagkatapos na pagkatapos ko marinig iyun ay agad akong napamulat.

Mukhang nagising na ako for real this time.

Yeah. I am awake now for real.

Yet, I feel like I am not...

That fragment of memory...

Nangyari ba talaga yun?

Kung totoo lahat ng nakita at narinig ko..

Just what he supposed to mean when he said those words?

Abel looks like he was in total pain.

"AH!... Gising na siya!"
