-Chapter 17-

A barely dull golden hues stared at the person presently laying on bed, sleeping.

Ilang oras na din siyang nakatitig at naghihintay na magising ito.

Dahil ayon sa batang kasama nito, isang araw na ang lumipas ngunit hindi pa ito nagigising

A sad frown crossed his pale yet handsome face.

'This is all my fault'

And started blaming himself.

'If only...I didn't leave her!'

'If only I tried to help her!....'

'but I'm so weak!... How dare I....'

Napapikit nalang siya at kagat labing napatahimik.

Iminulat niya ulit ang kanyang mga mata at ibinaling ang atensiyon pabalik sa babaeng nakahiga sa kama.

Pero napatalon siya sa gulat ng makita nitong nakamulat na ang mga mata ng babae.

"...."

The way the girl stared sadly and deeply at the ceiling send shivers down to his spines.

It was a bottomless stare.

"Ah! Gising na siya!"

nagmamadali niyang sigaw para malaman ng iba pang kasama niya na gising na ito

Dahil rito ay naagaw niya ang atensiyon ng bagong gising na babae.

Natigilan siya ng malalim at walang emosyong nakatingin sa kanya ngayun ang kulay dugong mga mata.

"ATE KALEY!"

ang batang demi-human na siyang nagbukas ng pinto sa kanya kanina ay mangiyak ngiyak at nagmamadaling yumakap sa babae.

"Joseph?... Uh.. Tahan na.. bat ka umiiyak? May nang away ba sayo ulit habang tulog ako?"

Damien quickly freeze up seeing a frown on Kaley's face.

Ng mabilis na umiling si Joseph ay agad napalitan ito ng maliit na ngiti.

Damien sighed in relief.

Then he stared at the comforting scene infront of him.

The person, he considered his savior is right in front of his eyes.

Who have thought that behind the mask she wears when he first met her lies a woman who have goddessly appearance and a beautiful heart beneath it.

'.....Beautiful'

isip isip niya habang mariing tinitigan ang kabuoan ng mukha nito.

Then he paused.

Realizing what he just think of. A blush immediately crossed his pale face.

He lowered his face quickly to hide his red face. Embarassed.

"Really?...I sleep all day......"

"Yes! You sleep with no trace of waking up ever again!!"

"..I-I see....Mukhang pinag alala kita, pasensiya na..."

nakangiting paninigurado ni Kaley kay Joseph.

Hinay hinay namang tumango si Joseph at hindi na umimik pa

Kaley softened her gaze and continued to comfort her foster little brother.

It was a warming silent.

But, damien decided to break it.

"U-uhm...."

naaagaw ang atensiyon namin ni joseph kay Damien na nakalimutan kung andito pala.

Pareho kaming lumingun rito. I saw him flinch and lowered his head.

His eyes were shadowed so I can't guess what face he was making right now.

Looking at his appearance,

Mukhang inasikaso siya ng maayos ni Marquis Qlinn.

The beggar appearance of Damien when I fiest saw him is nowhere to be found.

He looks like a son of a high noble in his new outfit.

It suits him.

Of course, that would be expected.

Damien is the one who save and brought  the victims to the Marquis.

He is like a Hero.

"...You came earlier than I expected"

walang emosyon kong sabi

Pansin ko ang pagtalon niya ng konti dahil siguro sa gulat. I smiled umconsciously.

nauutal na sigaw ni Damien. He bowed like his life depends on it

"THANK YOU FOR SAVING THE KIDS AND ME! I AM REALLY GRATEFUL! IF YOU'RE NOT THERE! I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT WILL HAP----!..."

"Stop."

agad kong putol sa sasabihin niya.

Kinakabahan naman akong lumingun kay Joseph na kasalukuyang nakangiti sa akin habang diretsong nakatitig sa akin.

I shivered.

His face was smiling but his eyes wasn't! not even a little bit!

I'm screwed.

"I see... Ate Kaley...So you're saving other people without me knowing?... Can you explain everything to me without leaving a single details. "

Kumikinang na sambit ni Joseph.

I paused and gulped.

D*mn!

Now he will know everything that happened!

Nilingon ko si Damien upang humingi ng tulong pero agad lang itong nag iwas ng tingin.

My eyes widened. You betrayer!

How can you exposed everything then leave  me behind!

"Ate Kaley!.. who is this guy and what really did you do?"

Waaahh..

Please calm down Joseph!

"...Y-You see....uhm.."

Please dont look at me with those eyes!

Waaah! This is Damien's fault!

And why did I even sleep for a whole day!

This is driving me crazy!

"Ate Kaley?"

And after this incident

Kaley and Damien vowed to never angered Joseph

or even think of keeping secrets to the demi-huma kid ever again.

It was a lesson they will never forget.
