I got to school the next day and it was lunchtime. Everything seemed as usual down to Sylvain's bragging about his "fantasies." Freya wanted me to play Xbox with her and I still wondered where Olwen got all the tech. That's when someone unexpected showed up at our table.
"Hey," Ember said.
She wore one of her old concert dresses. Her father was probably still shopping for new clothes. The poor guy was probably scared out of his wits.
"Can I sit here?" Ember asked.
"Of course, Minmay-" Olwen began.
"My name isn't Minmay, it's Ember," she sighed sitting down.
Tension was running high and I needed to diffuse the situation.
"Hey, wanna talk about some theories-" I began.
"Great, now I know I'm at the outcast table..." Ember muttered.
I sensed things would be a rocky road from here...
