CHAPTER 13 - BACK TO NORMAL

TIMESKIP – 1 WEEK LATER

ALFRED'S HOUSE

Speed woke up to his alarm and began to narrate

Speed: "It's a regular day in Plasma Town. Nothing out of the ordinary. Pokémon wake up. Roll out of bed. Suit up for the day."

The Jolteon jumped out of the bed and ran around the room getting dressed. Once he was dressed he dashed out of the room, next stop was Jitters

Speed: "Get to work as fast as they can. Make sure they get a caffeine fix along the way..."

He ran into Jitters and grabbed two cups of coffee before dashing back out, of course he dropped change on the counter to pay for it.

Speed: "...so they can make it through the mountain of work that awaits them."

He accidentally knocked over his coffee mug, but time slowed down and he was able to grab it before it broke on the floor

Speed then actually woke up, he slept through his alarm and groaned. Instead of dashing around the room and getting dressed, he slowly rolled out of bed

After getting dressed he hopped on the bus, he didn't have a car and Alfred was already at work, so he had to take public transport which was always crowded with other Pokémon.

He finally reached his fist stop, Jitters and hopped off the bus, unfortunately this time, instead of getting his coffee immediately, he had to wait in line for it.

After he got his coffee, hopped back on the bus, he reached PTRD where he went straight up to his lab and started working on the cases. He knocked his mug off the desk which ended up hitting the floor and shattering, he groaned

Speed: "Yup, it's just a regular day. And I'm just a regular mon."

TIMESKIP

CORTEX, S.T.A.R. LABS

The team was in the Cortex, Trace had his goggles on and was holding Jay's helmet

The Luxray didn't see much in the vibe, only a slight blip of Pearl in Zoom's lair and that was it

He took off his goggles and sighed: "I really wish we didn't have to keep Jay's helmet around. I hate this thing. Just want to put a dent in it."

Lazuli: "Trace, did you see Pearl in your vibe?"

Trace nodded: "Zoom's got her in his lair. She's scared, but she's okay."

Speed sighed in relief: "Oh, thank Arceus. Alright, we need to get her back."

Alfred: "I know. But without your powers, there's no way any of us can get through that breach that you guys found at the hospital. I just don't think there's anything we can do right now."

Alex walked inside the Cortex

Alex: "He's right. And it's thanks to you, Allen."

Alfred: "Enough. We're all suffering here."

Alex: "That's right. That's right, Detective. We're all suffering. We've lost Snow..."

He pointed at Speed: "...you've lost your powers, and now Zoom can come through
that breach anytime he wants. And that, Allen... that's on you."

Lazuli: "Hey, that's on all of us, okay? We made these decisions as a team."

Alex shook his head: "No we didn't."
