Chapter 11

James

After our conversation in janitors room, we both went for our classes. During lunch in cafeteria my eyes landed on Danny he was busy laughing with his friends. I was so happy to see him like this, then he looked at me and smiled. Whole time I glanced at him. Today, i have achieved my first step but there is still one stage left to be done- mate.
For next two days, we both try to steal glances at each other but never talked. I was feeling agitated to speak to him. So today, I asked him to come to forest with me. We both walked and sat under a tree while facing each other...
"Can you tell me more about werewolves?"
"Sure, first, werewolves are half human and half wolf. Second, all werewolves are divided into different packs which is controlled by an alpha and his or her mate (Luna). Third, werewolves are categorised into ranks from top to bottom like alpha,beta,gamma, warriors and omega's. They all have their specific duties to do."
"Mate?"
"Like soulmates" and he nodded.
"You are m-mine" I said while looking at my hands.
"What?" He shouted and looked at me disbelievingly.
"Yes"
"B-but I am human".
"They can also be mate. Moon goddess choose mates for werewolves".
"I can't believe it".
"It's the truth" i was just praying that he would not reject me.
"A- ahm, that mate thing how does it work actually?" He spoke after few minutes.
"Mate is normal like couples in human world. But in our world moon goddess has already connected us with our mates which we can't... reject" i said and he cupped my cheeks as I was panicking just by thinking about word reject.
"Shhh, calm down" he said
"Actually,the rejection from mate can kill a werewolf because both of their souls are connected." I said while looking at my hands.
"Look at me (James did)  I aslo feel some connection between us before you being my... mate. So, we'll give it a try" he said while smiling.
And we both hugged and sat there just in silence to feel each other's presence.

Danny

When James told me about rejection thing I feel so bad  But right now when we are hugging I am sure that I am safe in his arms.
"Do you want to go on a date with me tomorrow?" He asked while holding my hands.
"Yes" i have always admired James and maybe little bit wished for him to just notice me and now he is my mate.
After talking about ourselves for few hours James dropped me home and I was excited about the date.
