Chapter 5

Aditya POV 

He came home after dropping Taani home, he sees his father working in his office as he walks by, he decides to go in, "Hi papa" "Arey aagye Taani ko chhorke?" " Haan papa, aap abhi bhi kaam kar rhe he? Sona nai he?" "Arey bas kuch documents check karne the, ho gaya bas." "Papa aap Taani ko kitne time se jante he?" Aditya asks feeling a bit awkward but he wants to know about her, "Kyun?" "Nai bas ese hi puch raha hoon.", Yash smiles, "tumhe yaad nai hoga but you know her from childhood, you were about 4 when she was born, hum sab family friends the, muje aaj bhi yaad he tum aur Swayam use apni godi me lene ke liye bahot ladte the, agar mere aur Rishi ke bich dooriyan nai aayi hoti toh I think you guys would grown up being best friends." Yash remembers the past with a bitter smile. "Aap ke aur Rishi uncle ke bich kuch fight hui thi?" Aditya asks, "Esa hi kuch, business ko leke thodi anban hogyi thi, fir hum log apne life aur kaam me itna ulaj gye ki ek dusre ki dosti ke liye waqt hi nai raha" Yash replies a bit sadly, "but aap toh abhi bhi unke close he na?" "Haan ab he per pehle jese nai, we are trying to build our friendship again." Yash says. "Actually muje tumse isi baarein me kuch baat karni thi." "Haan boliye na papa." 

"Dekho tum per koi pressure nai he, mere aur Rishi ke bich bas ese hi baat hui thi toh mene socha ek  baar tumse bhi baat karlu." "Papa ab aap muje na dara rhe he, saaf saaf boliye na baat kya he" Aditya asks getting impatient. "Woh would you like to meet Taani and get to know her as your future wife? I mean agar tumhe arrange marriage me ya Taani me interest nahi he toh bhi koi problem nai he but just ese hi bol rha hoon" Yash says feeling a bit unsure. "ummmm muje arrange marriage me koi problem nai he but I don't really know Taani and woh bhi muje nai janti, can I get back to you about this later?" Aditya replies feeling a bit shocked after hearing the marriage talk from his father. "Haan haan, like I said koi pressure nai he, we only care about you kids happiness. Bahot raat ho gyi he chalo so jao." "Haan" Aditya leaves his dad's office in a daze. He goes to his room and just lays down on his bed thinking about Taani and his talk with his father.

Taani POV

"Hello, Good morning Tauji, kese he aap" Taani asks after picking his call, "Me theek hoon, tum batao tum kesi ho? How was dinner at Yash's house?" Rishi asks her, "Me bhi theek hoon and aapko dinner ke baarein me kese pata?" "Arey woh Shalini Bhabhi se baat hui thi, unhone bataya." "Achcha, haan I liked it, uncle aunty bahot achche he" "Good good, wese me Sunday mumbai aa rha hoon, muje tumse kuch baat karni he so sath me lunch karein?" Rishi asks, "Tauji yeh bhi koi puchne ki baat he, aap muje boldijiyega aur me aajaungi, abhi rakhti hoon, office ke liye late ho rha he", they exchange goodbyes. 

Muje college me kuch assignments submit karne jana he kal, I don't know how I am going to face everyone again. Yeh sab chhor aur nikal warna sach me late ho jayegi for office. She leaves and goes to office. 

Khurana Office

Taani rushes in and collides with someone, she is just about to fall and clenches her eyes shut waiting for the impact but someone grabs her waist which makes her open her eyes, another brown eyes are staring back at her, "Are you okay?" Aditya asks, "huh?" Taani says feeling a bit dazed with the intense expression on Aditya's face. "I asked are you okay?" Hearing him the second time jerks her back into the world, "haan I am okay" saying this she moves away and collects the file that dropped. Aditya bends down and helps her, "Umm meri ek meeting he, me chalta hoon" Aditya says while handing her some papers he collected from the floor which had fallen out of her file. "Okay, thanks" Taani says and they go their different ways.

Woh kya tha Taani, tu dekhke nai chal sakti? Sara time bas logo se takrati rehti he. "Taani beta kaha khoyi ho tum?" Hearing Yash startles Taani, "Kuch nai uncle, yeh lijiye woh Mr Mehra ke project ki file, aap ek baar dekh lijiye", "Haan lao" they both get to work.

Hours pass by and thn its time for lunch, Taani goes into canteen and sees Sneha eating alone at a table and decides to join her, "Hi Sneha, can I sit here?" Taani asks, "Arey Taani itna formal kyun ho rhi ho? Sit na" Sneha replies, Taani sits opposite her and opens up her lunch box, "So how's office? Do you like it here?" Sneha asks, "Haan I do, abhi itna zyada time hua nai he but I do like the environment" Taani replies. "How long have you been working here?" Taani asks Sneha.

"I have been working here for about two years now, I started as soon as I came to Mumbai to live on my own, this is like my part time job while I complete my college so" Sneha replies, "Oh wow, I am also in my last year of college, mene socha thoda experience le lun so that I can thn do my MBA and help my Tauji with his business" Taani says, "So are you doing online classes as well? Wese where are you from?" Sneha asks, "Haan bas 3 mahine baki he graduate hone ke liye, me Jodhpur se hoon aur aap?" Taani replies. "Dehradun se also please na yeh aap wap mat bulao muje, bahot zyada formal sa lagta he" Sneha says smilingly, "Done!" Taani too replies with a smile, they talk through their lunch break, exchange mumbers and make plans to eat lunch together the next day as well.

They both get back to work, Taani is mailing some documents when she hears a knock, she looks up and sees Aditya, "Ji kahiye?" Hearing Taani say this reminds him of old movies where the wife used to call their husbands ji, thinking about this makes him blush for no reason, (Taani's POV, yeh itna lal kyun ho rhe he, ajeeb insan he), "Aditya?" "Huh, haan woh actually Dad kuch kaam se Delhi ja rhe he for a few days and my assistant has also gone on leave and she will come back on the next Monday so dad thought ki I could ask you to fill in the position of my assistant if you didnt mind it too much?" Aditya asks unsurely though he somewhere knows its his dad's plan so that he can spend sometime with Taani and get to know her, Aditya doesn't mind going along with it as he also wants to get to know Taani, he feels attracted towards her.

"Oh I mean haan muje koi problem nai he with working with you, uncle Delhi ke liye already nikal gaye?" Taani asks feeling a bit weird (Tuje itna weird kyun lag rha he inke sath kaam karne me, tu yaha kaam hi toh karne aaye he) "Haan unki 1 ghante me flight he, umm my assistant's office is my cabin, you can look at her laptop and she has made some notes which you can go through" Aditya says. "Aapke office me?" Taani asks, "Haan I share my office with Tina, thats my assistant's name, would that be an issue?" Aditya asks, "Why would it be an issue? Let me just mail this file and I will come" Taani replies, "umm yeah sure okay, see you thn" Aditya says awkwardly and thn leaves.

(Yaar kya Aditya tu us ladki ke samne idiot ke jese kyun behave kar rha tha, I barely know her and she is still affecting me so much, agar isse shad- nahi nahi, you are getting ahead of yourself Adi, work pe focus kar)

After a few minutes Taani comes to his office and she knocks, "You don't have to knock, come in, its going to be your office for a few days" Aditya stands, Taani comes in, "The laptop is on and here are the notes" Adi says handing her the notes and she takes them and goes over them. They get to work for a few hours and soon its time to go home. They pack up and leave, "Me tumhe ghar drop kardu?" Aditya asks as they get in the lift together, its just the two of them in the lift, "nahi me chali jaungi, aapko pareshan hone ki zarurat nai he, thanks" Taani replies, "Isme pareshan hone ki koi baat nai he, me bhi ghar hi ja rha hoon and tumhara ghar raste aata he na? Toh let me drop you na" Aditya doesn't know why he is being so adamant on dropping her home, "Ummm if you insist" Taani says not knowing what else to say without being rude.

"Okay chalo" Adi opens the car door for her which makes her a bit uneasy thinking why is he being so naise to me, "Thanks" she mutters, they drive off in silence, neither knowing what to say. He drops her off at her buildings gate and says goodnight, "goodnight", she walks off and Adi drives off.
