The Duke's Grandmother, who looked at Evelyn's silence with disgust, soon got on the wagon and disappeared.

Locked up, Evelyn headed straight to Polina Kindergarten.

As I looked far away at the brightly lit kindergarten, my heart ached.

Bianca is probably the last child to go home from Polina Kindergarten.

The children of other wealthy families have escorts and wagons, but Evelyn couldn't afford it.

After a while, Bianca sprang out and jumped into Evelyn's arms.

"Mom!"

"Bibi, how are you?"

Evelyn held Bianca in her arms and patted her back.

Bianca kept digging into Evelyn's arms and clasped her collar.

Like I never wanted to get away from my mother.

"Bibbi?"

Feeling a little strange, Evelyn squinted.

Bianca, who would normally walk out of her arms and chatter, was strangely quiet today.

But then Bianca let go of the Evelyn grip.

"How are you today, mom?"

At the question, Evelyn nodded reflexively.

"It was fine."

It wasn't delightful to argue with the Duke's Grandmother.

Still, the reason why I could answer "it was okay" was that I could not bear the insult to myself this time.

'But....'

But I was glad Bianca wasn't around.

Evelyn thought so without realizing it.

Meanwhile, Bianca grinned when she heard Evelyn's answer.

"I see. Let's go home now."

"Oh, yeah."

Evelyn rose from her seat in a daze.

After greeting the teacher, the mother and daughter held their hands tightly and began to walk side by side.

One by one, gas lamps lit up as if stars were rising inside the darkened sidewalk.
