Amelia's POV
today for the most part has been good which is why I'm nervous something is going to happen I also haven't seen Mia like at all today she has been in surgery so that's great and I'm also dealing with a very crazy patient right now who I'm pretty sure has a brain tumor not to mention I'm still on this project with Meredith
"hey you good" April asked i bumped into her "yeah I'm just going to see the girls" I said then she gave me and smile then I went on my way when I got there I saw a bunch of doctors running around but I didn't think anything of it
"mommy!" I heard the girls say "hey do you guys wanna have lunch with me and mama" I asked then they nodded "great we just need to go by my office for some paperwork" I said then they each held onto one of my hands as we walked to the office.
we made it to the office they immediately went to their tablets while I worked I was looking through the boxes and stacks of paperwork then I hear my phone go off it was giving me a alert I walked over and we are in a code white that means either a crazy guy is out or we could possibly have a danger on the hospital.
"girls get over here" I said and they listened to me "I need you to listen to me right now" I told them they listened to me I closed everything down in my office I turned off the tablets and put my phone on silent but I grabbed it real quick "what's wrong mommy" lex asked me
"girls we need to play the quiet game" I told them I took them and we went under the desk
I looked down at my phone seeing text messages from mia and some other people
Mia.
-Mia: where are you?
-Mia: answer me!
-Mia: meila answer please
-Mia: where the hell are you?
-Mia: please just answer
-me: I'm ok where are you?
-Mia: ok and no where are you?
-me: in the office with the girls
-Mia: Amelia I'm coming
-me: no you can get hurt!
-Mia: don't care you are alone with them both basically trapped!
-me: no it's not safe

I'm literally going to hurt her I tell her not to do something she does it now im left on read I don't even know where she is at in this hospital I look over to the girls and see tears falling down their little faces this broke my heart.
"don't cry girls" I said in the most calm way possible wiping their tears away "I want mama" riles said "I know me too" I said "we just have to be quiet for a little bit longer" I told them I was now holding them trying to keep their cries from anyone hearing just in case someone was on our floor.
I hear the doorknob move so then I just moved them in closer to me to be honest I'm scared but I have to be brave for the girls I could hear the door open the girls looked at me worried I was scared because I knew if it was Mia she would have said something by now.
I kept the girls more closer to me I tried my best to peek underneath the crack in the table without the person seeing me but all I saw was the shoes then I watched as he walked out the room leaving it slightly opened
I was shaking because realizing that if he saw us we would probably be dead right now I took a deep breath looking down at the girls they were still crying "we're ok" I whispered in both their ears giving them a kiss on the forehead but I also had tears falling. fuck where the hell is Mia at?
within minutes I heard the door open again then close "girls? melia? are you in here" I heard Mia say then I knew it was safe to come out I got out from underneath the table then I went to get the twins that's when she saw "oh my gosh" she said then she started to help get them with me
they ended up in our arms "I want to go home" we heard Lexie say she was in Mia's arms and rylan was in mine "I know babe but we have to wait just a little bit longer" she told them I went over to the couch to sit down and see how they were doing after all of this
I tried to put riles down on the couch but she jumped back into my arms Mia was looking at me because I'm sure she could tell I was
crying but I didn't say anything i didn't want worry the girls...I had my phone in my hand and I saw that they caught the guy so I wanted to leave as soon as possible.
"can we go home" I said and she nodded to me the girls fell asleep in our arms we walked down to the lobby seeing everyone gathered around looking for their person "shepherd and Evans thank god you guys are ok" Bailey
said "where is Arizona and jo" Mia asked
"they're ok they just need time alone" Richard said "yeah mhm I need to take my girls home email me when you have everything" mia told Richard and Bailey and we went our way home
when we got home we put the girls down for bed they were already asleep we picked up a little around the house then all of a sudden mia stopped in her tracks "Amelia are you ok" she asked me "the gunman was in my office and I was thinking this is where I die or this is where my daughters get taken or maybe we all die now leaving you alone" I broke down and I could feel her catch me in her arms as I hit the bottom of the ground with her.
"h-h-hey shhh you're ok you and the girls are ok all of you are living" she said I could feel her touch and she was kissing my forehead multiple times "you're ok" she said again this time she was stroking my hair and then she gave me one last kiss on top of my head before we just sat there in each other's arms.
