The Darkened Dreams of a Desperate Man

I used to lie beneath the kind, bright sun
Felt the warmth encompass my icy, cold frame
I truly yearn to lie beneath the night air
Feel my poor, worthless soul become complete
Gazing at the constellations shine bright
Peering at shooting stars through the sky
Admiring comets that soar above
No one knows their secret purpose
They baffled the wise minds of those prior
How great would it be, up with all the stars?
An aerial view on life, far yet safe
Jealous of the man who lives in the moon
Stars are without woe, no tribulations
By the lord – How foolish my dream appears?
Shame me not, for I am in turmoil
I know not of kindness or honest love
I know of the solar system, of space
The consistency is ideal for me
I uncover solace in the unknown
How much longer 'til I can join the stars?
